Friends of Embark TRUSTEES REPORT 2024 (for FY2023/24)
Friends of Embark has been able to continue providing a woodworking experience when possible. Unfortunately, one of the trustees suffered a serious health condition and we had to pause running the workshop for a period of Dec 2023 and March 2024.
We did manage to make some sales of our products early in 2023 and for Christmas, with the help of our friends at the Yews Community Centre in Haywards Heath. We were also very well supported with a very generous donation from St Wilfrid’s School again from their superb fundraising events
This year the trustees have decided to invest in a new laser cutting and engraving tool, to produce kits of a variety of different products to give our woodworkers some new & different products to make, to keep it interesting for them.
I am happy to report that we were also able to make a grant to the adults with learning difficulties supported by Embark, to cover another year’s National Trust membership.
Funding
Although it has been another challenging year, for slightly different reasons to previous years, Friends of Embark remains in a healthy financial position thanks to the fantastic support we have received from St Wilfrid’s School who raised £3,548.53.
Our sales from products were slightly down last from last year at £234.50.
Way forward
We look forward to continuing providing the woodworking experience project again next year and using our new laser tool to diversify our product range and to keep the project interesting, for our wonderful adults with learning difficulties
