The charity was first registered on 29 June 2016

The Charity is run by a Management Committee appointed by the Trustees for such purpose. Both the Trustee and the Management Committee are appointed by the Annual General Meeting of the Charity.

The promotion of community participation in healthy recreation in particular by the provision of facilities for the playing of tennis.

The Charity provides facilities for the playing of tennis, including six allweather courts, one floodlit, changing facilities and a clubhouse.

The Charity offers members the opportunity to play tennis with other members guests and visitors. It also provides coaching for juniors and adults, both members and non-members.

Other organisations who use the tennis courts are Theydon Bois Primary School and Theydon Bois Pre-School.

Section D Achievements and performance

Summary of the main achievements of the charity during the year

The Charity continues to maintain and provide six tennis courts for use by all members, guests and visitors.

The courts are available for use at all times by the members.

The Charity organises club sessions on Tuesday Mornings, Wednesday Mornings, Wednesday Evenings, Thursday Mornings & Saturday afternoons.

Adult coaching and play is provided on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday at any time and also Saturday mornings.

Junior coaching is provided on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings (all year round).

Team practices are on Monday evenings

Section E Financial review

Brief statement of the The Charity policy on reserves is to annually add all profits to interest charity’s policy on reserves related bank account. The Charity needs to build reserves in order to refurbish the all weather courts in the future – total cost approx. £150,000. Currently reserves 3 times the Charity’s normal annual expenditure.

Basis of the preparation of the accounts

These accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. The income did not exceed £250,000 and the charity is not a registered company.

Incoming resources

All material incoming resources have been included on a receivable basis i.e. they are included if the date receivable falls within the period covered by these accounts.

Resources expended

These have been analysed using a natural classification.

Going Concern

The charity is operating on a going concern basis.

I report on the accounts of Theydon Bois Lawn Tennis Club for the year ended 31 August 2024 which are set out on pages 1 to 3.

Respective responsibilities of trustees and examiner

The Charity’s Trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. The Charity’s Trustees consider that an audit is not required for this year (under section 144 (2) of the Charities Act 2011 (The Act) but that an independent examination is needed.

Basis of independent examiner’s Statement

My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes considerations of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts.

In the course of my examination, no material matters have come to my attention which gives me cause to believe that in, any material respect:
