Holywell Evangelical Church Charity Commission Trustee’s report for the period 6th April 2023 to 5th April 2024.

The financial report is for the same period. Holywell Evangelical Church (Charity Number 1167853) registered with the Charity Commission on 27th June 2016.

The church building is on Halkyn Street, Holywell, in the county of Flintshire, North Wales. CH8 7TX. The church’s governing document and constitution were submitted to the Charity Commission when the church registered as a charity. During the year reported there were no serious incidents. Services on the Lord’s Day and the mid week Bible study and prayer meeting are recorded, audio and video. These are published soon after the service/meeting on Sermon Audio on the internet. All recordings are available to anyone, any member of the public, who wishes to hear/view/download them. Sermon Audio keeps all sermons historically for download by any person.

The objects of the charity: The principal object of the charity is the advancement of the Christian faith according to Baptist principles and in accordance with the Basis of Faith as stated in Schedule 1. The charity may also carry out other charitable purposes in the United Kingdom and/or other parts of the world. During the year reported the church has been faithful to her mandate in various ways:

  1. The provision of two public worship services (including prayer, the reading of God’s Word, the preaching of a sermon, and sung praise) every Sunday.

  2. The administration of the Lord’s Supper twice per month.

  3. The holding of a prayer meeting and Bible study every Thursday evening.

  4. Monthly Christian tract distribution and preaching on Saturday morning in Holywell high from approximately March to October. (weather permitting)

  5. The holding of a fellowship meal held on a Sunday lunchtime to which all are welcome. This occurs typically every 6 weeks. On occasions this has sometimes been held on a Saturday evening. It is normal that open air preaching takes place the day before the fellowship meal where an open invitation to attend the free Sunday Lunch is given to all who pass by in the high street of Holywell town.

  6. Supporting other charities in the UK and overseas.

  7. A few of our brethren preach in the open air in local towns on Saturday mornings. The free Christian literature and free bibles book table in Holywell high street on Saturday afternoons has ceased.

The church makes no charge for any event, food, or provision. Anyone is welcome to attend the Church and various meetings. The costs of provisions are borne by voluntary giving from church members and those who wish to contribute from the congregation. We, as a church give thanks to God for the people who attend our meetings who would not normally attend a church service.

We continue to seek a Pastor, prayerfully awaiting God’s provision. As a church for Sunday and Thursday services we continue to have preachers from various churches throughout the UK meet our spiritual needs.

Jeremiah 3:15 King James Version:

And I will give you pastors according to mine heart, which shall feed you with knowledge and understanding.
