Achievements and Performance

SORP reference During the year, the Foundation made total donations of £148,805 (2023: £52,275). Some of the bigger donations made during Summary of the main the year are described below: - Para 1.20 achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the Funds were donated to Pestalozzi World to charity’s work has made to provide education for disadvantaged the circumstances of its children in Asia and Africa by teaching beneficiaries and any wider practical skills, technical knowledge and benefits to society as a ethics. The Pestalozzi World scholars are whole. selected on the basis of ability as well as need, two girls to every boy. The aim of the charity is to educate poor students from rural communities in India, Nepal, Malawi, Thailand and Zambia. In addition, funds were also donated to a charity known as Friends of Baale Mane. The Friends of Baale Mane Gopalapura is a UK registered charity which exists for the sole purpose of supporting Baale Mane. Baale Mane is a member of Keeping Children Safe (KCS). KCS is an independent not-for-profit organisation. They set out internationally recognised child safeguarding standards that ensure all organisations working directly for and with children have comprehensive safeguarding measures in place. Their independence means that their standards and advice are not influenced by any other organisation or government. As a member, Baale Mane is committed to protecting children by developing and promoting the KCS International Child Safeguarding Standards. Funds were also donated to a charity known as Second Sight. Second Sight works in rural Bihar in North India where poverty is the direct cause of people’s problems and

blindness compounds their poverty. Their
mission is to restore sight to any woman,
man or child and to help prevent blindness.
The foundation also donated to a charity to
a known as the Sylvia Wright Trust, which is
a registered charity which supports the work
of Sylvia Wright in the Indian State of Tamil
Nadu. Sylvia, a nurse from Leeds in the UK,
sold her home and possessions in 1982, to
work relentlessly and courageously among
the sick and disabled in this very poor area
of India. Over the years Sylvia built and
established a 180 bed charity hospital, a
residential school for 200 profoundly deaf
children, two day centres for 80 severely
disabled children, a Nursing College for 60
students
as
well
as
running
many
community health projects.
The foundation has also donated funds to
the British Heart Foundation in order to help
those affected by heart and circulatory
diseases.
During the year to 5 April 2024, the
Shrinivas/ Usha Charitable Trust had also
donated funds to various other charities for
charitable purposes.

charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended05 / 04 / 2024.
