## Annual Statement. 

The Old Grammar School CIO, Faversham owns and Maintains a Grade Two Listed Building, built as the Original Queen Elizabeth First Grammar School. 

In the 1800’s the building was adapted for use as a Masonic Temple, and still continues in that use today. It is now the centre for several Masonic Lodges, and governed by a Board of Nine Trustees.    The building is open to the Public for three days in the year, and many other private viewings take place; to give everyone a chance to view this magnificent and historic building. 

The surrounding Garden of approx.  .75acres are let off at a peppercorn Rent to the Abbey Physic Garden. 

In January 2023, an Internal panel of plasterwork had come away from the frame work of the building, which required specialist repairs. The floor of the Refectory was stripped back, and re sealed and polished; to preserve its good condition. 

During the Summer of 2023, the Trustees have carried out considerable maintenance and decoration to the outside of the building. All Gutters were cleaned out, and any repairs were completed where necessary. 

The South elevation was completely re painted, plasterwork repaired, and LED lamps fitted to the outside light fittings. The Paintwork on the East elevation was cleaned, and re painted; including the Eaves and the undercroft. 

Our work continues, to preserve this wonderful building for the People and Town of Faversham.
