To take in unwanted or neglected,
captive bred, Owls and give them a
good home.
To take in injured native wild owls,
rehabilitate and release back into the
wild. Promote education of the plight of
these birds to visitors of at the
Sanctuary and by visiting schools, fetes,

Our main objective is to educate the public
about the plight of our Native and Non-native
Owls. Explaining that the main threat they
face is caused by humans.
This is done by educational talks to schools
and children’s groups such as Brownies,
Guides, Beavers etc. We have home-
education groups come to the sanctuary for
a visit and talk.
We give talks to residential homes, where
the residents find it very therapeutic to meet
and stroke an Owl.|||

All of our staff are volunteers. They work
Para 1.38 with the Owls, cleaning and handling /
Contribution made by training the Owls. They represent the
volunteers sanctuary at events and help with
fundraising.

came from homes where they could no longer
be looked after.
We rescued 10 wild owls of which 6 (60%) were
nursed back to health and released back into the
wild. They were released as near as safely
possible to the place they were found. Some
were too badly injured so did not survive.
We only gave 1 talk to a college and 1 birthday
party this year. Due to covid restrictions we
were not allowed to visit. We were also closed
due to lockdown for a long period during this
financial period.
We continuing to improve the site for our
visitors and the Owls. We do not perform flying
displays with our birds.|
