Summary of the main achievements
of the charity, identifying the
difference the charity's work has
made to the circumstances of its
beneficiaries and any wider benefits
to society as a whole.
Para 1.20
This year we were able to give out grants totsllln8
over £4(MJ) to local or regional rescues and other
a5sistsnce centres. Most of these OTganisations
help to rehabilitste sick and injured animals ready
for rehoming or take in those animals that won't
ever be able to be rehomed either due to
ternperament or illness.
This year was the first year we hadn't had any
requests for leaflets or flyers in relation to missing
dogslpets. ￿ seems that many such campaigns are
now run on s￿181 media and there are also other
oryanisations available with more technology and
equipment to assist.
Our bigqest contribution has been to the care of
service animals. We use funds from our annual
purple poppy campaign link in with charities
whose main aim and purpose Is to ensure those
animals vtho served the public in the past, or are
5tr'115ervin& receive the very best care when thev
become ill. This year we gave donations of £13,500
to the NFRSA and The Horse Trust. We retsined
£10.5(NJ to fund the 2024 campaign, RPD Baloo
received a small gift in recoenition of the
wonderful V￿rk she has done and continues to do.
The final legacy vrns a small donats'on to They Also i
Served Memorial Fund, which aims to promote
awareness of service anima15 Past and present bv
siting specially made benches in public spaces.
This will be a project for 20241
Once again, this year we were the main sponsors
of a dog show and everrt5 at a local carnival. This
helps to rdise our profile with the public once
more and to offer advice and assistance to those
people present. Through use of our posters
i showing animals that had been lost or stolen we
were able to initiate conversakn'ons regarding
, safety of pets and the correct process to follow if:
al Your pet is lost or stolen, and
bl You find a straying dog or other animal.
Continuin8 our relationship with a local
, supemiarket meant we Y￿re lucky enough to be
able to receive donations of pet food and

accessories from them on a regular basis. This
meant we were able to distribute this to local
rescues and to some food banks. For the rescues
thi5 helped to ease their food bill in the short term
and for the food banks it seems that whilst they
get regular requests from service users for
do8lcaVbunny food etc. they rarety receive any
such donations.
We linked in with a local RSPCA branch who were
able to provide u5 With donats'ons of food that they
were unable to use or distribute.
We are sakn'sfied that with ourgrants and
donations we are assisting organisations in their
