Army. Our| ||||||ability to be out and about assisting| ||||||members
ofthe public search for their| |Summary

restricted due to
lockdowns.
Our fundraising
and publicity is usually done
via local carnivals and fetes etc, but there
were none at all during 2020 which severely| |beneficiaries
and any wider
benefits to society as a

Practically
all ofour venues for selling our
Murphys
Army Purple Poppy ( vets, shops,
groomers etc ) were dosed or had entry
severely restdcted. This is reflected
in our| ||||||income from that line offundraising
as itwas| ||||||half ofwhat itwas the year before.| ||||||Our fundraising
campaign
2020 —Murphy's| ||||||Army Purple Poppy Campaign —benefited| ||||||K9 Heroes who help to rehabilitate
serving| ||||||service dogs. As a direct result ofour| ||||||donation
they were immediately
able to oifer
treatment
to 2 animais who had been on the| ||||||waiting
list. They continue to offer physio
and hydro therapy for dogs injured
in the line| ||||||of duty —most notably RPD Finn.| ||||||The donation
will continue to be used during| ||||||2021 and will aid many more animals
in| ||||||need ofsome form ofphysio or hydro| ||||||therapy
following
illness or injury.| ||||||With the onset ofCOVID-19 in March| ||||||Murphy's
Army had to rethink some of it's| ||||||tactics in relation to lost or stolen animals.| ||||||We usually
help coordinate searches and| ||||||produce postei s for distdbution,
however| ||||||with the lockdown
and then tiering system| ||||||we had to be very careful
in what we| ||||||publicised. We had to remind people that| ||||||traveliing
Iong distances to assist in
searches was not classed as essential
(| ||||||however
difficult and emotive
it may be ) and
as a result we did see a significant decrease| ||||||in the number of dogs lost or stolen in the| ||||||early part of2020.| ||||||Sadly that did increase when lockdown was
eased, and we did al'I we could to assist| ||||||individuais
and other organisstions
in| ||||||publicising
the animals
concerned.| ||||||Throughout
the year the charity receives
grant requests
from individuals
to assist in
the care of their pets. These individuals
may| ||||||not be able to pay the entire vet bill due to
circumstances
outside of their control, and| ||||||the
canrequesta
rantofu
to F250.For| ||||||the ovmers this alieviates some ofthe stress| |---|---|---|---|---|---| ||||||associated with such treatment
at what is
usually a very upsetting
time. However, 2020
accounts show that we didn't receive many| ||||||direct applications
from individuals.
Murphy's| ||||||Army did become proactive and as well as
supporting
Many Tears with a monthly
donation,
we also made grants at several| ||||||times throughout
the year to small rescues
who we knew would be struggling
to raise| ||||||funds due to the cancellation
of all public| ||||||events.| ||||||Once again we gave outf6000 in grants to| ||||||registered rescues across the country.| ||||||As one of our core objectives isto assist| ||||||other rescues with bills, transport
and other| ||||||related costs, we believe these grants
