## STAFFORD SAMARITANS TRUSTEES REPORT 2021 

It has been a very difficult time for us particularly coping with Covid and all that entailed. We were fortunate that our volunteers continued with duties despite extra cleaning and shift changes to ensure all were safe. A new Director was appointed in July 2020 and also new deputy directors for specific areas of our branch. Including training. caller care and recruitment, although with all these changes and the pandemic our callers did not suffer and we maintained a very high response throughout, We have around 50volunteers who carry out duties that include early mornings and shifts until 3am. 

During the last year we have improved our IT systems installed new alarms throughout to ensure the safety of our people. We are in the process of drawing plans to modernise our building and make it more user friendly, 

We have an excellent outreach team who visit doctors surgeries prisons schools police fire service and many more. during lock down this has curtailed activities but plans are afoot to recommence those activities, The branch is supported by an excellent team called Friends of Stafford Samaritans who work tirelessly to raise funds  ensuring we can continue our vital work, 

As we  hopefully return to normality it is our intention to strengthen our quality with continuous training and drive up our volunteer numbers, there are people who desperately need our help and as we move into the next period we will continue to offer support to those less fortunate than ourselves
