Duringthe period under review, the charity continued to 8pplyforfundingfrom local
org8ni8ations. We worked closely with and received fundingfrom the CIC'RoyalTunbridge
Welts Together,. We liaised with local artiststo further our aim of promoting 8ttractwe works of
art in central spaces frequented bythe general public. The charity'strustees were, therefore.
once again able to workforthe public benefft complyingwith the stipulations in section 4 of the
2006 Act.
Having raised sufficientfundsfrom severalsources, and finallyobtsined the necessary
authorisations, the charity brought to a successful conclusion what was originally envisioned
as the first phase of its'Rus in Urbe Cabin8ts of Curiosty. project. ft engaged a local artist to
decorate two Open Reach utilty Cabinets in 8 prominent position in 8 tr8ffic-free pedestrian
precinct in the centre of town. The project receNed widespread approbation and was part of the
country-wide Open Reach Cabinet Art Programme. It also slotted well into the town's efforts to
make the central area more attractive to residents and visitors alike. As the project progressed,

ve worked towards a second phase. preparing artists, guidelines and application forms and
drawing up 8 timetablefor an open calL We also identrfied further Open Reach cabinets at
several points inthetown's centralcommercial district. Disappointingly, Open Reach suddenly
announced the cessation of its Cabinet Art Programme. We accordingly transferred our interest
to Virgin Media cabinets and bythe end of theye8r under review. had identified three cabinets
in the centre of town for further art decoration. The decoration of these cabinets will be at the
centre of our activities in the year ahead.
The Charity recelved grants totalling £1300 from "RoyalTunbridge Wells Together" during the
year. The charity received £3 in bank interest and paid £62 in bank charges.
At the end of the yearthe charity had resefves of £1.256 (previous year£1.165) being cash of
£1,556 less outstanding ￿anS of £300. These reserves 8re held in orderto defray any dayto day
running expenses that rnight be incurred. and to act as seed com capit8lfor potential projects.
The cherity'8 policy is to keep reserves to a minimum. as new projects will be specifically
funded by targeted fund-raising activities.
