Audltor responslbilitA¢s for the audlt of the financial Statements
We have been appointed &s auditor under section 144 of the Charities Act 2011 and report in accordance with
the Act and relevant regulations rnade or having effect thereunder.
Our objcclives are to obtain reasonable &8surance about whether the financial ststements as a whole are free
from Djatsrial misstatement, whether due to fraud or error, and to issue an auditor's report that includes our
opinion. Reasonable assurance is a high level of asswanc4 but is not a guarantee that an audit conducted in
accordance with ISAS (UK) WAII always detect a material misslatemenÈ when it exists. Misstatcments can arise
from fraud or ¢rror and are considered material if, individually or in the ag￿gate, they Gould reasonably b¢
expected to infiuence the economic decisions of users taken on the basis of these fllwjcial statements.
The extent to which our procedures are capable of detecting irregularities, including fraud is detailed belovr.
. Ensuring that the Audit Team has the appmpriate comwence and capabilities to identify or recognise non
compliance with laws and regulations, with specific SLwtible areas (e.g. expense authorisation) having been
outlin¢d at the planning sts8¢.
. Enquiry of manag¢mcnt and those charges with governance around ac￿al and potential litigation and claims
and fraudulent trans￿tiOnS.
. Reviewing minutes of meetitw of those charged with governance.
. Reviewing financial statement disclosures and testing to supporting documentation to assess compliance with
applicable laws and regulations.
. Auditing the risk of management override of ¢ontro15, including through testing journal a]tries and other
adj￿Stments for appropriatene&8.
Becau5c of the inherent limilations of an audi¢ there is a risk that we will not detect all irregularities, including
those leading to a material misstatement in the financial ststements or non-compliance with regulation. This risk
increases the more that compliance with a law or regulation is removed from the events and transactions
reflected in the fmancial statements, as we will be less 1￿ClY to become aware of instances of non-compliance.
Th¢ risk is also greater regarding iryularities occutring due to fraud rather than etror. as fraud involves
intentional ¢on¢ealm¢n¢ forgery. Collusio￿ omission or misrepresentation.
