## **Minutes** 

1. The Chair welcomed all in attendance, 

2. Minutes of the last meeting were approved. Proposed by AM, seconded by SA. 

3. **Matters arising** – Natalie agreed to send the verified accounts to the Charities Commission and teach AM how to do it, again. Stoats Farm campsite new owners had been welcoming to DofE teams, but not forthcoming with a pitch fee. 

4. Emma presented her **Chair’s report:** HRH the Duke of Edinburgh died on 9[th] April, just two months short of his 100[th] birthday. 

- April - Return to face-to-face meetings inside youth clubs and community centres. June – return to camping and residentials

August - Gold expeditions for Open Award Centres 

October - Canal boat residential for Golds 

Ryde Network restarted expeditions at Bronze and Silver level 

November - Network Ryde Presentation; first after lockdown 

Good to see more activity after last year’s lockdown when everything had to be done at home or online. I of W Education Federation had also done some expeditions. She hoped we could all get back to more normal activity this year. She thanked NW for organizing the Lowland Leader courses 

5. Archie presented his **Treasurer’s report.** (attached). There was a surplus for the year of £1315.99. The final balance was £3854.05. We still had the £1000 from the High Sherrif allocated for a Mental Health First Aid Course. It was recommended that the surplus accrued in the ‘kit hire’ account should be spent on rucksacks. 

6. Election of Officers – 

- Chair – Natalie Woods; proposed by CT; seconded by SA Vice-Chair – Senad Adams - proposed by AM; seconded by NW 

- Secretary – Carol Taverner - proposed by SN; seconded by AM Treasurer – Archie McGhie - proposed by NW; seconded by SA Natalie thanked the outgoing Chair, Emma Snow for her time and energy. 

7. Wendy Bluestone was again elected to verify the accounts. Proposed by NW; seconded by AM. 

8. **AOB** CT had been given a brochure from ‘Sailability’, advertising for volunteers to help with their sailing for the disabled courses, or fundraising for the charity. SA had information about the Platinum Jubilee parade in Newport on Sat 4[th] June. Volunteers needed for litter picking after the event. 

9. The meeting closed at 19.45 

- 10.Date of next meeting – Monday 11th July 2022. This will be at Island Learning Centre – face to face.at 6.30pm
