The Workers Memorial Registered Cbarity No 1167731 th th Annual Report for the period 20 June 2025- 19 June 2026 The board of trustees present the trustees annual report for the above period and includes the accounts for the charity. The report Is required for the charity commission and covers our activities and financial position We still enjoy the patronage of Lord Watts of Ravenhead and Marie Rimmer CBE MP. David Baines MP accepted our invitation to be a patron, replacing Conor McGinn. Martin Bond has stood down as a trustee because of work commitments and now supports us as a patron. We welcome Mr John Hodkinson appointed as trustee to replace Mr Bond. The trustees thank Mr Bond for his service We held our annual service of remembrance in April attended by members of the public and many local dignitaries. The service was a great success At the beginning of the year our grant application was looking good with several applications in the pipeline, but these proved unsuccessful and we have been pledged money only to be let down. Its been a disappointing year for us regarding fundraising. Money is tight at present and donations have all but dried up. We expect the situation to improve in the foreseeable future. We are still enrolled to the Give as You Live scheme and this is producing a small amount of funding At present we are running at a loss and our expenditure exceeds our income, but we have enough cash in the bank to see us through the next year and beyond. There is no risk that we will run out of cash, our main overhead is insurance and this is fully in our control. We are still able to function as norn]al and fulfil all our commitments. The trustees still give their time for free, we employ no staff, do not rent or own any property nor do we plan to borrow any money or overdraw the bank account. At present we don't see any reason to alter how the charity is run or adjust it's cash flow, we will carefully monitor the situation and give consideration and carefully cost any project before we commit to spend The situation is not too concerning, we will make every effort to turn the tide and continue to apply for grant funding. We are in a fortunate position having Unite the Union St Helens as our main sponsor We continue to use the services of the Coop bank, deposits are covered by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme. As of 1910612025 we had £10,131.76, at the bank. As of the 19106/2026 we had £9,715.56, at the bank. Our outgoings for the period 1910612026 -1610612026 was £433.72 Our income £18.26 We still intend to further improve the site of the statue and at the same time enhance the security in the area by installing lighting to the statue We have installed a bleed kit in the defibrillator storage cabinet and registered it with the North West Ambulance Service. The kit was donated by a local business S￿ve Caunce Ltd We intend, moving forward, to push for workers memorial day to be included in the national school curriculum intending to get Workers Memorial more of a main stream occasion and less of a niche thing We are still in a position to deliver defibrillator traÉning and take lectures into schools and colleges. At present we are trying to encourage high school students to take part in the Workers Memorial service of remembrance By submitting this report the Trustees approve the accounting and reporting of the charity and agree this is an accurate account of the financial health, future aspirations and past activities of the charity.
