## **Trustees Report for the period 01/04/2020 to 31/03/2021. PANTRY Cwmtawe. Charity No: 1167724.** 

**Objects and Activities** : PANTRY’S purpose is to help alleviate poverty in and around the ‘upper’ Swansea valley. The main way we tackle this at present is by operating a Foodbank in Pontardawe two days a week. 

The Trustees have read, understood and have regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit. 

## **Achievements and Performance** : 

Over the last year the demand for food has remained fairly consistent and we have fed just over 1200 people. With the arrival of Covid we have had to modify the ways in which we operate, but we continue to supply food to those that need it twice a week. Although we have been a little busier, we haven’t faced the  expected  surge in demand for our services that we were expecting. 

We still keep strict control over our finances and over 85% of our income was spent on food items. 

Financial Review: As our accounts for the year will testify, PANTRY remains in a healthy financial position. Although we have a healthy balance, it is difficult to predict the demands for our services from month to month. This is especially true with the onset of Covid. We need, therefore, to respond to increases in demand. 

Our balance on the 31/03/2021 was £18,235

**The charity is a CIO** . Trustees are elected and re-elected on an annual basis.
