HCPC Trusties Annual Report 2022 -2023
Food donations to HCPC have been reduced / lost, due to the actions of C&CS Labour Councillors from Pontarddulais, Gorseinon, Loughor and Waunarlwydd in the Swansea area, who have been securing these food donations for their own political gains and the food banks in their’ Wards’.
The demand for food parcels has increased significantly. Many families are being supported including ex-Service men and women, who have been refused and / or been subjected to embarrassing questioning by other food banks, HCPC has had an increase in clients where a member of the family has been incarcerated and the mother is in fear of their children being taken from them by Social Services. HCPC has had an increase in demand from some individuals who have been released from prison with neither money nor support and in need of a food parcel.
The ‘7yr Plan’ at the field in Pontarddulais is running into difficulties as the previous occupiers / tenants of the field are sabotaging and causing damage to works. The Police are refusing to help, and the Charity can ill afford CCTV.
HCPC has lost two volunteers due to verbal and physical abuse by the neighbours to the Field in Pontarddulais, the volunteers suffered with mental health issues. SW Police refused to get involved.
