Report MESOPOTAMIAN YOUTH ASSOCIATION TRUST I report on the financial statements of Mesopotamian Youth Association for the year ended 31 March 2025 which comprise the statement of financial activities. These financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities {effective January 2007), under the historical cost Respective responsibilities of Trustees and Independent Examlner. As the Charity's Trustees you are responsible for the presentation of the accounts. you consider that the audit requirement of section 43(21 of the Charities Act 1993 (the Act} does not apply. It is my responsibility to state, on the basis of procedures specified in the General Directions given by the Charity Commissioners under section 43(7)(b) of the Act, whether particular matters have come to my attention. Basis of Independent Examiner's Statement. My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charities Commissioners. An examination includes a review of the accounting records kept by the Charity and a comparison of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consideration of any unusual items or disclosures in the accounts, and seeking explanations from you as Trustees concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence that would be required in an audit, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the view given by the accounts. Annual Report of the Mesopotamia Youth Association (MYA) Reporting Period: 1st April 2024-31st March 2025 This report highlights the activities and achievements of the Mesopotamia Youth Association IMYA) during the 2024-25 financial year. Throughout this period, MYA remained committed to engaging with the community, focusing on supporting the physic81, emotional, and social well- being of young people. Key Activities and Initiatives 1. Ramadhan Family Banquet (April 2024) MYA organised a successful banquet attended by over 80 people to celebrate the holy month of Ramadhan. This event fostered a sense of community and togetherness among families, offering a warm and festive environment. Activities included interactive quizzes and presentations for children, as well as a discussion on how to think strategically about community empowerment. 2. Strategic Working Group MYA established a strategic working group to examine the history of community engagement in Britain during the 1980s and 90s. The focus was on seeking to understand how minority groups approached community engagement at a strategic level, with a view to developing an enhanced strategic approach to MYA'S work that better addresses today's challenges. The working group met numerous times over the course of the year and included discussions with community leaders who were active during the period of interest. 3. Careers Workshops Building on the previous year's focus on careers mentoring, MYA organised more careers workshops this year for A-Level students. The goal was to support young people make informed decisions about their career options including what to study at university. by invitingyoung professionals to speak about their own experiences. Trustee Meetings and Challenges The MYA trustees convened multiple times throughout the year to review the association's activities and financial status. There was agreement that while ongoing events have yielded positive results. a greater focus on supportingyoung parents through training workshops should be pursued over the comingyear. Conclusion Over the past year, MYA has continued to support and empower its members through organising events and activities. but it has also sought to think more strategically about how it can develop a more effective modus operandi.
