**Objects:** TO ADVANCE THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN MATTERS RELATING TO THE HISTORY, HERITAGE, THE NATURAL AND ECOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT, AND THE SOCIAL AND CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT OF SLAIDBURN AND THE SURROUNDING HODDER VALLEY AREA AND THEIR INHABITANTS, IN PARTICULAR, AND BY STIMULATING AND DEVELOPING GENERAL PUBLIC INTEREST IN THE HODDER VALLEY IN ANY CULTURAL/EDUCATIONAL ASSOCIATED ACTIVITY BY PROVIDING A REPOSITORY FOR EXISTING ARCHIVE COLLECTIONS AND FAMILY COLLECTIONS OF PARTICULAR LOCAL INTEREST TO THE HODDER VALLEY

**Activities:** The Archive's aim is to protect and conserve the cultural heritage of the area and to act as a repository for local people wishing to deposit relevant photographs, documents and memorabilia.  It is also a resource for those wishing to research the history of their families, the places where they lived, their activities and the context in which their lives were lived.
