Church Secretary Report
Pastor Christians, Board Members, Members, Church Family and Friends, I greet you all in the matchless name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
This is my seventh report as Church Secretary and my fifteenth as Church Treasurer. Firstly, I would like to thank the Pastoral Team audaciously – Reverend Doctor Trevor Christians and his wife Mrs Twyla Christians for the leadership at Clapham Junction Church of the Nazarene for the year 2023.
Thanks is also extended to the NMI Department and the Sunday School Department and these Departmental Heads will inform everyone about the activities that has taken place in their reports.
Thanks is also expressed to the Stewards for their committed service in enabling activities which they are responsible for to be carried out. Not forgetting the Worship Team who lead the Worship at CJ Church Sunday after Sunday and the Janitorial Team who cleans the Church week after week, a heartfelt thank you is expressed. The NYI Department known at CJ Church as NYG – Next Youth Generation is up and running and I look forward with great expectancy for the activities they have for the Year 2024.
The year 2023 has been a very challenging year for the Church with the Tithes and Offering unable to offset the monthly expenditures of the Church and leave a residual amount but the Church is thankful to the faithful tithers and the Gift Aid Covenant Members for their contributions.
The Church is still waiting to acquire the Building Certificate and as a result there are setbacks but we are trusting that the correct resolution will take precedence.
It will be a very ecstatic occasion to see the blue hoarding in front of the Church be remove and replaced with the proper fencing so that the beauty of the Church’s architecture can be visible to the public.
Praying the God will show unusual favour for the above.
While there were challenges, we as a Church experienced vibrant participation of monetary donations for the Sanctuary Platform Pledge and the Sanctuary Chairs.
The attendance of the Church has also increased in numbers and it is a delight to see both adults and youth visitings and wanting to become members.
It was with great sadness that we as a Church experienced the demise of one of our members Mrs Myrtle Walters and we continue to pray that God will give the family a peace that passeth all understanding as they mourn her loss.
I look forward with great expectancy to what God has in store for the Clapham Junction Church
of the Nazarene for 2024 and I pray that as He directs we will be receptive and adhere to His guidance as we strive in unison to make Clapham Junction Church of the Nazarene a beacon for Jesus Christ in the community of Clapham Junction and beyond.
I believe that being an ambassador for Christ is a journey and there are many experiences but where you end is up to you the individual and the choices you make.

The Financial Statements of Clapham Junction Church of the Nazarene was inspected according to the Financial Year 30[th] September 2023.
The inspection was made in accordance with the audit guidelines of Charitable Organisation Business Methods, and the financial statements are prepared in accordance with the HMRC Regulations.
The audit was done against the Church’s Cash Book, Invoices Receipts and Financial Bank Statements of the Barclays Bank.
All cash flow was consistent in accordance with the principles authorized by the Clapham Junction Church of the Nazarene and the Treasurer must be commended for the discipline way in which the finances are managed.
