The Trustees have adopted the provisions of the Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) “Accounting and Reporting by Charities” issued in March 2005 in preparing the annual report and financial statements of the Charity. The is governed by a Memorandum and Articles of Association. ## **Principal Activities, Aims and Organisation of the Charity** ## **Health** The Haddis Agape Foundation intentions and the good work started in Affiliation with the ALERT Hospital of Ethiopia. In Ethiopia the demand of plastic and reconstructive surgeries in enormous due to the lack of the necessary quantitative and qualitative service. Going extra miles towards challenging situations is of course demanding but I presume it gives much fulfilment. We believe the primary and the basic challenge is in upgrading the infrastructure of the operation set up of the ALERT Hospital. ## **Education** The Haddis Agape Foundation, the advancement of education through training, research development services and community projects. Any such other charitable purposes anywhere in the world as the directors may determine. The charity intends to work in collaboration with plastic surgery unit in Ethiopia (the county of the founder) and the possible contact of the surgery units in England. The funds obtained to the charity would be completely channelled to the purpose stated and the surgeons going to the mission fields, as well as Hospital treatment coverage costs. ## **Plans for the Future** The Haddis Agape Foundation envision that this project could also serve in upgrading the skill of the local plastic surgeons and would potentially open an access for expatriate doctors specializing in plastic surgeries as it will be yielding a wide spectrum of plastic-reconstructive surgical experiences. ## **Income Generation** The charity has generated £21,844 (£0 in 2023) in donations, grants and other charitable actives during the year. ## **Grant Contribution** During the war period in 2022, different community groups and stakeholders bought and donated for us on behalf of our charity, the amount of money of 954,500 Birr equals pound sterling £14,256. ## **The Charity’s income streams for the year ended 5 April 2024** A donation of £1,390 from the members of the community and grants received £9,994 and £10,460 from National Lottery Fund. **2023** was nil. ## **Trustees** The trustees who served during the year ended 5 April 2024 were as follows: - 1) Mrs Hiwot Amare - 2) Mr Anteneh Legesse Reta - 3) Miss Wafa Ali Mohamed - 4) Mr Ayaanle Sigad - 5) Mr Las Cells Williams ## HADDIS AGAPE FOUNDATION ## STATEMENT OF TRUSTEES RESPONSIPLITIES FOR THE YEAR ENDED 5 APRIL 2024 Charity law requires the trustees to prepare financial statements for each financial year, which give a true and fair view of the state of affairs of the charity and the income and expenditure of the charity for that period. In preparing those financial statements, the trustees are required to select suitable accounting policies and then apply them consistently. The charity is newly established, and it is growing up fast, the objectives of the charity are the advancement of health for disadvantaged children and young adults in Ethiopia suffering from paediatric neurosurgery problems and also conditions that require plastic surgery treatment and reconstructive surgery by the provision of financial assistance for the purchase of hospital equipment not otherwise available. We have managed to help more than 50 people so far. Following year, In order to increase our activities and the number of people we are going to help, the charity is planning to manage and guarantee some activities including renting a new office, purchasing some important equipment’s which are not available in the area we are serving at the moment. We are also planning and manage some more activities to secure funds for the new activities including fund raising events, finding Individual donors, TV appeal, Charity shop, Fund Me online, crowd funding etc. The Trustees of Charity have pleasure in presenting independently examined accounts for the Charity's activities in the period to 5 April 2024. The financial statements comply with current statutory requirements, the Constitution and the Statement of Recommended Practice — Accounting and Reporting by Charities (SORP 2005) and the Charity's governing Charity Commission Scheme, the Charities Act of 2011. The report takes account of the requirement for Trustees to report annually on public benefit and the Trustees have had regard to the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit.
