Ob'ectives and activities
TAR
March 2012

To help children and young people, disadvantaged by disability or
economic circumstances, achieve their potential - especially
children with a particular talent.
Summary of the objects of the
charity set out in its
governing document
To relieve financial hardships and poor health in older people
The Trust achieves its public objectives awarding grants to
registered charities working directly with people in the beneficiary
groups identified in the Trust deed.
The Trust has also made grants to institutions (e.g., schools) and
individuals in accordance with the with the Trust's objectives.
Each year the Trust receives applications working with young
people disadvantaged by disability or economic circumstances.
The Trust also receives applications from individuals for help with
learning, e.g. for equipment or tuition costs.
Summary of the main
activities undertaken for the
public benefit in relation to
these objects (include within
this section the statutory
declaration that trustees have
had regard to the guidance
issued by the Charity
Commission on public
benefit)
As these applications far ex￿ed in total the sums available for
grants the Trustees have grants rounds to select those
applications they consider most closely aligned with Trust's
objectives. Being a small Trust, the Trustees tend to prioritise
grants to small, local charities or community groups where a grant
is likely to have a significant, direct benefit on individuals in need.
Specific grants awarded are listed in Section D below.
The Charity retains as much as possible of its income for public
benefit by undertaking all its work through unpaid volunteers who
usually forgo payment and expenses.
The Trustees make extensive use of the guidance on charity
governance and management issued by the Charity
Commission's guidan￿ on public benefit
Additional detsils of objectives and activities (Optional inforniation)
