Tonic Health 15 a charity community hub for health and wellbeln& sltuated close to Spaldlng town centre. It
houses a complementsry therapy clinic, hosts a number of exercise cla55es, provides a ran8e of communlty
based prolects and offers hire of facilities to other local organisations.

It is the policy of the Charity that unrestricted fund5 which have not been (iesi8nated for a speclfic use should
be maintsined at a level equivalent to between three and six month's expenditure. The Trustees consider that
reseNes at this level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue
the Chariws Current artivities while cortsidèration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This
level of reserve5 has been maintsined throughout the year.
The Trustee5 have assessed the major risks to which the Chartty 15 exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in
place to mltlgate exposure to the major risks.

experlence. to complement the existing trustees, and to provide suc¢esslon.
The company's current poliLy concerning the payment of trade credltors Is to follow the CBI'5 Prompt Payers
Code l¢opie5 are available from the CBI, Centre PolnL 103 New Oxford Street, London WCIA IDUI.
The company's current pollcy concerning the payment of trade creditors is to:
settle the terms of payment wth suppliers when agreeing the terms of each transartion,.
ensure that suppliers are made aware of the terms of payment by indusion of the relevant terms in
contracts,. and
pay in accordance with the company'5 contractual and other legal obllgatlons.

I report to the Trustees on my examination of the financial ststements of Tonlc Heatth CIO (the Charltyl for
the year ended 31 May 2024.

As the Trustees of the Charity you are responsible for the preparatlon of the financial statements in
ccordance wlth the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Act).
I report in respect of my examination of the Charit¢s finan¢ial statements carrled out under sertion 145 of
the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Dlrertlons given by the Charity
Commission undèr sertion 14515llbl of the 2011 Act.

Since the Charity's gross income ex¢eeded £250,OCQ your examlner must be a member of a body listed in
sectlon 145 of the 2011 Act. I confirm that l am qualified to undertake the examlnatlon because l am
member of Fc￿ whlch Is one of the listed bodies.
Your attention is drawn to the fatt that the charity has prepared fftnancial statements in accordance with
Accounting and Reporting by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance wlth the Financial Reporting
Standard applicable In the UK Republlc of Ireland IFRS 1021 in preference to the Accounting and
Reportin8 by Charities- Statement of Recommended Practice Issued on l April 2005 which is referred to in the
extsnt regulations but has now been withdrawn.
l understand that this has been done in order for flnanclèl statements to provide a true and fair view in
accordance with Generally A(￿pted Accounting Prarti¢e effective for reporting periods beginning on or after
l January 2015.
I have completed my examination. l Confirm thar no matters have come to my attention in connection with
the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:

Tonic Hearth ao is a foundation re8lStered 3 June 2016 and subsequently amended and approved on 2
August 2018.
1.1 Ac<ountlng ¢onventlon
The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charity's tgovernin8 documentl, the
Charities Act 2011, FRS 102 Yhe Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland.
I"FRS 102.1 and the Charities SORP "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Ststement ol Recommended
Practice applicable to char￿leS preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard
applicable In the UK and Republic of I￿land IFRS 1021" (effective l January 20191. The Charity is a Publlc
Benefit Entity as definèd by FRS 102.
The Charity has taken advantage of the provisions in the SORP lor charities not to prepare a Ststement of
Cash Flows.
The financial statemènts have departed from the Charlties (Accounts and Reportsl Regulatlon$ 2008 only to
the extent required to provlde a true and fair view. This departure has involved followin8 the Statement of
Recommended Prattice for charf(iès applying FRS 102 rather than the version of the Ststement of
Recommended Practlce which is referred to in the Regulations but whlch has since been withdrawn.
The financial ststements are prepared in sterlin& which is the functional currency of the Charity. Monetary
amounts in these financial statements are rounded to the nearest £.
The financlal statements have been prepared under the historical cost convention, Imodified to include the
revaluation of freehol(J properties and to include investment propertlès and certain financial instruments at
fairvaluel. The prlncipal accounting policles adopted are set out below.
1.2 Goini concern
At the time of approving the financial statements, the Trustees have a reasonable expertation that the
Charity has adequate resovrces to continue in opèrdtional existence for the foreseeablè future. Thus the
Trustees contlnue to adopt the 80in8 concern basis of accounting in preparln8 the financial ststements.
1.3 Charitable funds
Unrestricted fund5 are available for use at the discretion of the Trustees in furtherance of their charitable
objectives.
Restrlrted funds afe subject to specific conditions by donors or grantors as to how they may be used. The
purp95es and uses of the restricted funds are Set out In the notes to the financial statements.
Endowment funds are subject to specific conditions by donors that the capital must be maintained by the
Charlty.
1.4 Income
Income 15 TecoBnlsed when the Charity is legally entitled to it after any performance conditions have been
met, the amounts can be measured reliably, and It Is probable th* income will be received.

Cash donations are recognised on receipL Other donations are recognised once the Charlty has been
notified of the donation. unless performance conditions require deferral of the amount. Income tax
recoverable in relation to donations re¢elved under Gift Aid or deeds of covenant is recognised at the time
of the donation.
Lègacies are recognised on receipt or otherwise If the char￿ has been notified of an impending
distribution, the amount is known. and receipt is experted. If the amount is not known, the legacy is t￿ated
as a contingent asset.
1.5 Expendlture
Expenditure is recognised once there is a legal or constructive obllgation to transfer economic beneffit to
third party, it 15 probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be required in settlement, and the amount
of the obligation can be measured rellably.
Expenditure is classified by activity. The costs of each activity a￿ made up of the totsl of dirett costs and
shared costs, includlng 5UPPOrt costs involved in undertaking each activity. Dlrect costs attributable to a
single attivlty are alloc*ed dirertly to that activlty. Shared costs which contribute to more than one activity
and support costs which are not attributable to a single activity are apportioned between those actlvltles on
basis consistent wf(h the use of resources. Central staff costs are allocated on the basis of time spert( and
depreclation charges are allocated on the portion of the asset's Use.
1.6 Tanglble fixed assets
Tangiblè fixed assets are initially measured at cost and subsequently measured at cost or valuatlon, net of
dep￿ciatIOn and any impaimient losses.
Depreclation is recognised so as to write off the cost or valuation of assets less their residual values over
their usèful lives on the following bases..
Leasehold land and buildings

The gain or 105$ arlslng on the dlsposal of an asset is deterniined as the difference between the sale
proceeds and the carryingvalue of the asset, and Is recognised in the statement of financial attivitles.
1.7 ImpaIrMe￿ offlxed assets
At each reporting end date, the CharSty reviews the carrying amount5 of its tangible assets to deterniine
whether therè Is any indicatlon that those assets have suffered an impairment10s5. If any such indication
exists, the recoverable amount of the asset Is estimated in order to determine the extent of the impaiment
loss lif anvl.
IA Cash and osh equlvalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held at call wSth banks, other short.term liquid
Investments with original maturitie5 of three months or less, and bank overdrafts. Bank overdrafts are
Shown within borrowing5 in current liabilitles.

The Charity has elected to apply the provisions of Section 11 'Basic Flnancial Instruments, and Section 12
'Other Financial Instwments Issues, of FRS 102 to all of its financial Instruments.
Financial instruments are recognised In the Charity's balance sheet when the Charlty becomes party to the
contractual provisions of the instrument.
Financial assets and liabilltlès are offset. with the net amounts P￿Sented in the financial statements. when
there is a legally enforceable right to set off the rètO8nised amounts and the￿ Is an intentlon to settle on
net ba51s or to realise the asset and settle the Ilability simultaneously.

Basic financial assets, whlch include debtors and cash and bank balances, are initially measured at
trnnsactlon price including transaction costs 8nd are subsequently Carried at amortised cost uslng the
effective interest method unless the arrangement constltutes a financing transartion. where the tran5artion
is measured at the present value of the future receipts discounted at a market rate of interest. Financial
assets classified as receivable within one year are not amortlsed.

Basic flnancial liabilities, includlng creditors and bank loans are Inltially recognlsed at transartion prfce unless
the arrangement constitutes a financing transaction, where the debt instrument is measured at the present
