## **Trustees’ Annual Report for the year ended 31[st] January 2024** ## **Macclesfield Brass** A charitable incorporated organisation, also known as MB. ## **Charity registration number 1167452** ## **Principal address** 49 Meadow Drive Prestbury Macclesfield SK10 4EY ## **Trustees** The following trustees were reappointed at the AGM on 3 May 2023 Elan Paton (Chair) Amanda Moss (Treasurer) Jenny Lyons (Health and Safety officer) Caroline Proudlove Trustees are appointed by the members at the annual general meeting. Appointments of trustees at other times may be made by the members or trustees. All appointments are held until the next general meeting at which the trustees retire and are eligible for reappointment. ## **Summary of the year’s developments** New Musical Director Charlotte Danford joined us as our new MD in February 2023. She has settled in very well. Players are inspired by her enthusiasm, energy and musicianship. New Rehearsal Venue The band moved to rehearse at St John’s Church in Macclesfield in February 2023. It is working well and offers flexible spaces for our activities. Increased band membership The band has steadily increased in numbers with a group of total beginners starting their training this year. Attendance at band rehearsals has been excellent. Playing for the community The band played at many events in the Macclesfield area throughout the year. These included events at care homes, the local hospital and in Macclesfield town centre. MB took part in the Whit Friday Contest in Saddleworth and Tameside. Changing financial situation Members of MB continue to support the band by donating towards the running costs. The year’s financial activities have resulted in a fall in our reserves which will inform our fundraising for the coming year.
