|||||Achievements
against our objectives:||
|||||1.|As previously
stated we provide a premises/|
||||||workshop space where older people meet up|
||||||to five times a week and engage
in|
||||||woodworking
and other activities.
We|
||||||undertake
small personal
projects or other|
||||||larger projects for local groups and charities.|
||||||Some ofthe items are sold to raise funds for|
||||||the charity.
The group has up to43|
||||||members
at present who can meet up to|
||||||meet five times a week. Anecdotal evidence|
||||||we have gathered
from within the group|
||||||shows our members
benefit from the social|
||||||activity and interactions
with others. Some|
||||||members
ofthe group have formed
firm|
||||||friendships
and meet outside the times ofthe|
||||||formal group and some regularly
meet on a|

|||||2.|Some ofour membership
have been|

||||||developing
relationships
with other charities|
||||||and groups. We are now established
in our|
||||||workshop
within a community
hub operated|
||||||by the Strafford Town Trust. We have,
in|
||||||return for rent free accommodation|
||||||undertaken
small projects, such as providing|
||||||shelving,
notice boards etc. within the|
||||||building
for the Trust and other charities|
||||||based
in the building.
However,
From June|
||||||2021 we have had to contribute
to the|
||||||running
costs ofthe accommodation.
We|
||||||have in the past, in co-operation
with the|
||||||Shakespeare
Lions, constructed
a Santa's|
||||||sleigh for their Christmas
charity collections.|
||||||and undertaken
maintenance
projects on this|
||||||Santa's sleigh. We also this year have formed|
||||||a mutually
beneficial
relationship
with|
||||||Compton
Verney Art Gallery.|
|||||4.|The Mens Shed's, home in a Charity
Hub|
||||||created by the Strafford Town Trust provides|
||||||the security which we need for the future,|
||||||although
we will now have to make a financial|
||||||contribution
to the running
costs.|
|||||5.|There was no shed activity between
January|
||||||2021 and June 2021due to Covid-19|
||||||restrictions.
This resulted
in reduced income|
||||||from sale ofgoods.
Membership
fees were|
||||||waived
until the beginning
of2022 when|
||||||there would be more information
on the|
||||||returning
numbers
to the shed, following|
||||||Covid19 lockdowns
and fees could be better|
||||||determined
to help meet the contributions|
||||||now required
by our landlords.
Current funds|
||||||allow for this but the subject offuture|
||||||fundraising
will be addressed
during the new|
||||||year.|
