||Summary of the main<br>achievements of the charity,<br>identifying the difference the<br>charity’s work has made to the<br>circumstances of its beneficiaries<br>and any wider benefits to society<br>as a whole.<br>Para 1.20<br>The objectives that support our key purpose<br>are:<br>1.<br>Promote social inclusion and well being<br>through friendships and social interaction<br>within the group,<br>2.<br>Provide opportunities for members to share,<br>and learn new skills,<br>3.<br>Build relationships with groups and<br>individuals in the local community which allow<br>us to achieve our aims<br>4.<br>Provide a permanent base for Mens Shed.<br>5.<br>Provide a credible income stream,<br>Achievements against our objectives:<br>1.<br>As previously stated we provide a premises/<br>workshop space where older people meet up<br>to five times a week and engage in<br>woodworking and other activities.  We<br>undertake small personal projects or other<br>larger projects for local groups and charities.<br>Some of the items are sold to raise funds for<br>the charity.   The group has up to 35<br>members at present some of whom meet<br>three times a week, others less often.<br>Anecdotal evidence we have gathered from<br>within the group shows our members benefit<br>from the social activity and interactions with<br>others. Some members of the group have<br>formed firm friendships and meet outside the<br>times of the formal group<br>2.<br>A percentage of our membership have been<br>professional trades people, some are<br>experienced in DIY and they share their<br>knowledge and experience with others in the<br>group.<br>3.<br>We have been particularly successful<br>developing relationships with other charities<br>and groups. We are now established in our<br>new workshop within a community hub<br>operated by the Stratford Town Trust.  In<br>return for rent free accommodation we<br>undertake small projects, such as providing<br>shelving, notice boards etc. within the<br>building for the Trust and other charities<br>based in the building. We have in the past, in<br>co-operation with the Shakespeare Lions,<br>constructed a Santa’s sleigh for their<br>Christmas charity collections.  We undertake<br>maintenance projects on this Santa’s sleigh.<br>We also participated in the collections.<br>4.<br>The Mens Shed’s, home in a Charity Hub<br>created by the Stratford Town Trust provides<br>the security which we need for the future.<br>5.<br>There was no shed activity between March<br>2020 and the end of the year due to Covid-19<br>restrictions.  This resulted in no income from<br>sale of goods and no other income apart from<br>members’s subscriptions.|
