## **Objectives and Activities**
Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document
As set out in the charity’s constitution dated 25th May 2016, our purpose is to relieve the suffering of cats in need of care and attention and, in particular to provide rescue homes or other facilities for the reception, care & treatment of such cats.

The focus of our activities remains to provide foster care for cats whilst finding them their adopted homes and to promote humane behaviour to all animals

In planning our activities for the year we have kept in mind the charity commissions guidance on public benefit at our trustees meetings.
## **Achievements and Performance**
2021 has been an incredibly difficult year. Whilst the country was experiencing a lockdown that started late December 2020 and ended July 2021, animals were still requiring help. We ensured that a small number of volunteers retained their key worker status.
This status was crucial in allowing us to help a record number of cats & kittens.
This was one of the main reasons for 2021 being our busiest year, with 316 cats & kittens receiving assistance.
- 296 cats & kittens were adopted
- 39 ferals were neutered
- 10 cats were reunited with their owners
- 10 cats received medical assistance
- 10 neutering vouchers were issued
Lockdown meant our volunteer numbers were drastically reduced, and up until July 2021 we only had 7 fosterers and 3 volunteers working at the rescue.
During this time we also worked closely with Animal Rescues in Birmingham who reached out to our charity to ask for assistance in rehoming Feral Cats and Kittens.
We reached out to another local charity & a local food bank, donating pet food that had previously been donated to us, and that we would be not able to use.
By far our biggest achievement was the opening of a new site to primarily to provide a safe environment for Street and Feral Cats. Once neutered and assessed some are able to rehabilitate and go on to live in a domestic home. Those feral cats who prefer a life away from human contact are found safe homes on farms or stables.

## **The charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising)**
Due to COVID 19 affecting the first few months of 2021, our fundraising during this period of reporting has been severely curtailed. The main source of funding was from donations and adoptions, we also received grants from Jean Sainsbury Animal Welfare trust for help towards Vet Fees and also the Association of Dog & Cat Homes Emergency Covid Fund.
## **How expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity.**
Our largest expenditure in 2021 was for vet fees and food, without which we could not continue our work.
We were able to hold our first event in October of 2021 which very well attended and raised over £2200.00.
