## **Objectives and Activities**

As set out in the charities constitution dated 25th May 2016, our purpose is to relieve the suffering of cats in need of care and attention and, in particular to provide rescue homes or other facilities for the 

reception, care & treatment of such cats. 

## **Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.** 

The focus of our activities remains to provide foster care for cats whilst finding them their adopted homes and to promote humane behaviour to all animals

In planning our activities for the year we have kept in mind the charity commissions guidance on public benefit at our trustees meetings. 



## **Achievements and Performance** 

2021 has been an incredibly difficult year. Whilst the country was experiencing a number of lockdowns, animals were still requiring help.  We worked quickly to establish key worker status for a small number of volunteers. 

This status was crucial in allowing us to help a record number of cats & kittens. 

This was one of the main reasons for 2021 being our busiest year, with 299 cats & kittens receiving assistance. 

- 247 cats & kittens were adopted 

- 10 ferals were neutered 

- 19 cats were reunited with their owners 

- 8 cats received medical assistance 

- 15 neutering vouchers were issued 

Lockdown meant our volunteer numbers were drastically reduced, throughout the year we had only 7 fosterers and 3 volunteers working at the rescue. 

We built on an existing relationship with a local cattery, who offered their facilities to us when we had no extra capacity. 

We reached out to another local charity & a local food bank, donating pet food that had previously been donated to us, and that we would be not able to use. 

By far our biggest achievement was the construction of an additional 5 pens, incorporating a much needed isolation pen.  This has doubled the number of pens allowing us to admit more cats.

The Charity holds cash in the bank of £25981 this is unrestricted funds.

## **The charity’s principal sources of funds (including any fundraising)** 

Due to COVID 19 our fundraising during this period of reporting has been severely curtailed.  The main source of funding was from donations and adoptions, we also received grants from Support Adoption for Pets towards the construction of our new pens and the Association of Dog & Cat Homes Emergency Covid Fund. 

## **How expenditure has supported the key objectives of the charity?** 

Our biggest area of expenditure this reporting year was in relation to the construction of 5 new pens and a food and litter store, this was partially funded by a grant from Support Adoption for Pets, this will significantly increase the number of cats we can admit. Our second largest expenditure was for vet fees and food, without which we could not continue our work

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above
charity ("the Trust") for the year ended 3111212020
Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation
basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act
2011 ("the Act").
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out
under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I
have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission
under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have
come to my attention in connection wtth the examination which gives me
cause to believe that in, any material respect:
accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of
