PONTARDDULAIS TOWN JUNIORS FOOTBALL CLUB

TRUSTEES ANNUAL REPORT

FOR THE YEAR ENDED JUNE 1[st] 2021

The Trustees present their report and financial statements for Pontarddulais Town Juniors Football Club, a registered charity, number 1167293

The charity’s trustees consider that an audit is not required this year and that an independent examination only is needed. Normally the threshold for needing the clubs accounts audited is not required, however, this year the club has undertaken a significant project which has resulted in an increased expenditure.

ORGANISATIONS PURPOSE AND MISSION

The objects of Pontarddulais Town Juniors Football Club are: (a) to advance the amateur sport of association football. (b) to promote community participation in healthy recreation by providing facilities for playing association football (facilities means land, buildings, equipment and organising football activities). (c) to provide and assist in providing facilities for sport, recreation and other leisure time occupation of people who have need of such facilities because of their youth, age, infirmity or disablement, poverty or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving their conditions of life. (d) to advance the education of children and young people whether or not undergoing formal education.

ANNUAL REVIEW

The year has been a very difficult one for the club and in particular the players because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic prevented young people from taking part for a significant time. Having had the lease from the Council for a short period the club wanted to provide a facility that could best support the 350 junior players and 100 seniors. The club have a plan in place which includes developing the quality of the playing area, improving the drainage, securing the area with a fence and upgrade the facilities to provide more opportunities for other people within the community. As a result of the voluntary efforts of the committee members during this period the club was able to undertake works on the pitch and provide a perimeter fence to enable that children could play football safely without having the risk of falling in dog mess.

TRUSTEES STATEMENT

The Trustees are happy with the progress made by the club this year. The accounts are in a healthy position, however, this is due to the funding being granted for the drainage works which will commence in the next financial year. The Trustees are delighted that the club are investing in the facility at Coed Bach Park.
