Empowering Our Community, One Youth at a Time
At Hyde Young Peoples Enterprise, 2023 has been a year of growth, resilience, and unwavering commitment to our mission of combating NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) issues within our community. Through active grassroots engagement, we have tailored our programmes to address the unique needs of our youth, focusing on education, employment, and holistic development.
Our approach goes beyond traditional methods. We understand that to truly make a difference, we must look at the bigger picture. That is why our approach encompass not only education and employment but also recreational, voluntary, and social activities. This holistic strategy has allowed us to directly involve local youth, families, and stakeholders in creating pathways to brighter futures.
One of our proudest achievements this year has been the launch of our new hub, that has been remarkable success. These are a testament to our belief that with the right support and surrounding, every young person has the potential to overcome barriers and build essential skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
As we look ahead, our focus remains steadfast: to continue empowering the young people of our community, providing them with the tools and opportunities they need to succeed. We are grateful to our partners, supporters, and volunteers who have stood by us every step of the way. Together, we are making a lasting impact and transforming lives.

2.2 Current area of work
Key Activities and Achievements
This year, Hyde Young Peoples Enterprise (HYPE) has been dedicated to supporting young people at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) through a variety of impactful initiatives. Our safe space at the HUB has been a cornerstone for providing information, advice, and guidance, where young people can access support tailored to their unique needs.
Our outreach programmes have expanded into the community, focusing on engaging with youth who may not otherwise have access to essential services. Through these efforts, we have reached out to young people in their own environments, helping them to navigate the challenges they face and connect with resources that can make a real difference in their lives.
In partnership with organisations like Base-X, Youth Futures Foundation, Yuvanis, RSI, and Army of Kindness, we have also been involved in research projects aimed at identifying and overcoming barriers to employment and education for young people. These collaborations have strengthened our ability to deliver targeted interventions that address the root causes of NEET status.

Well-being has been a key focus, with our HUB offering sessions designed to improve mental health and build resilience. These activities are essential in empowering young people to overcome challenges and pursue their goals with confidence.
Looking ahead, we are actively planning and developing a long-term strategy to solidify HYPE's role as an essential element in the community. This includes expanding our support for other community organisations, enhancing our well-being activities, and continuing to advocate for early interventions that reduce the risk of young people becoming NEET.
Future Plans and Goals
As we look ahead, Hyde Young Peoples Enterprise (HYPE) is committed to deepening our impact within the community by expanding our outreach, support, and engagement initiatives. We aim to develop new partnerships and strengthen existing ones with local organizations like Base-X, Youth Futures Foundation, and RSI, to create a more robust network of resources for young people.
We plan to enhance our well-being sessions at the HUB, introducing more targeted programmes addressing mental health and resilience. Additionally, we are strategising long-term initiatives that will position HYPE as a cornerstone in the community, offering consistent, reliable support to young people and their families.
Our future plans also include launching new community projects that will involve youth in meaningful activities, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility. These projects will be designed to not only reduce the risk of NEET status but also to build life skills that can translate into sustainable career opportunities.
In the coming years, HYPE will focus on sustainability, ensuring that our programs can continue to serve the community effectively. We are committed to securing the necessary funding and resources to maintain and grow our operations, ensuring that our support for young people remains strong and impactful for years to come.

3.0 Business Context and Environment
There are external factors that could influence in developing a business for the Charity in the future. These are Political, Economic, Sociological, Technological, Legal and Environmental (PESTLE) and the analysis of these are as follows:
3.1 Political
Hyde Young Peoples Enterprise has no links with political parties. Given the lack of similar facility in the area for the targeted communities, it has received no political support.
3.2 Economic
Almost all the three wards in Hyde are socially and economically deprived areas area except Gee Cross which is on the top of Hyde Werneth Ward. The ward borders with Woodley ward in the Metropolitan Borough of Stockport.
The following are economic factors that could challenge the development of the organisation:
-
Increase cost of living out stripping income for middle class families
-
High unemployment and under-employment in the area
-
Affordability of leisure/sporting activities
Given a recent increase in interest rate it could further prevail people from participating in certain leisure activity and the organisation needs to be mindful of this fact.

3.3 Sociological
There has been an increase in anti-social behaviour in the area. The organisation could keep the hub open during day time with funding to keep young people engaged and out of the streets. Football and cricket are popular games within the local young people and the organisation could expend its activities beyond indoor leisure/sports activities. Since the hub is now more stabilised, it could look into increase its reach.
3.4 Technological
The organisation has developed a website www.hypenterprise.com, while also having social media channels. It has enabled the organisation to increase its social media presence. It can therefore reach larger audiences encouraging increased participation in its activities. It could also receive feedback from its users to improve and expand its services.
3.5 Legal
The organisation operates within the regulations as required by the Charity Commission. It has got public liability insurance to cover any unforeseen circumstances. However, if the organisation is mindful of extending its services for the elderly and/or young people the staff/volunteers running activities will require Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check as well as training on working with vulnerable people.
3.6 Environmental
Hyde Young Peoples Enterprise is conscientious and ensures that all the lighting equipment are LED which saves power and are user friendly. It also adheres to the regulation by ensuring that all the rubbish is put in an appropriate bin. Old sports equipment and accessories are disposed of or recycled based on the guidance provided by the Council.

Estimated population of Hyde in Tameside was 34,872 on 30[th] June 2016 - - (https://www.citypopulation.de/php/uk england northwestengland.php? cityid=E35000037)
4.2 Competition
Hyde Young Peoples Enterprise is mindful to develop new activities both indoor and outdoor based on the feedback received from its service users as well as its local community. There is a lack of certain health and wellbeing activities in the area, as well as issues of young people becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).
