Financial Review
| Review of the charity’s financial position at the end of the period |
Para 1.21 | The charity was very grateful for an increased donation from its main benefactor having had reduced income in the prior year. Additionally the fundraising events were popular and well attended which in turn increased the receipts to £26,392 for the year. These additional receipts accounted for more than 25% of the income. Owing to the timing of the autumn drinks evening which fell into the 2023/24 year, the annual distributions to the chosen charities are not included in this years accounts. This increased the undistributed funds as at year end to £25,722. £15,000 was distributed to the charities in the month following the year end. |
|---|---|---|
| Statement explaining the policy for holding reserves stating why they are held |
Para 1.22 | The policy for distributing funds is to make two payments during the financial year. As such any reserves held at the financial year end relate to the timing of receipts against the timing of the distributions. Reserves held at the year end will be distributed in the following financial year. The charity does not have a policy of intentionally holding reserves. |

INDEPENDENT EXAMINERS’ REPORT TO THE TRUSTEES OF LODDERS CHARITABLE FOUNDATION
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of Lodders Charitable Foundation for the year ended 31 October 2023.
Responsibilities and basis of report
The charity’s trustees are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the charity’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
Independent examiners’ statement
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that, in any material respect:
-
the accounting records were not kept in accordance with Section 130 of the Act; or
-
the accounts did not accord with the accounting records; or
-
the accounts did not comply with the applicable requirements concerning the form and content of accounts set out in the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008, other than any requirement that the accounts give a ‘true and fair’ view, which is not a matter considered as part of an independent examination.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
