## International Institute of Zen Therapy (ITZI) 

## Annual Report of the Trustees for the Financial Year ended 2023 

ITZI received substantial donations during the year from the Instituto Terapia Zen Internacional in Spain (ITZI Spain), and a small grant from the Institute for Buddhist Analysis & Psychotherapy (IBAP). 

The grant from Spain was dependent upon ITZI taking on the costs of the legal process to effect the transfer, and this constituted the major item of expenditure during the year. This effort has consumed most of the time and energy of the trustees during the year. 

This will, however, put the charity in a position to sponsor an international Buddhist Psychology (BP) conference planned for October 2024, to take place in Bilbao, Spain. 

The charity is also discussing making grants to students graduating from the globally offered on-line diploma course in Buddhist Psychology offered by our chair Dr David Brazier (not an ITZI offering), with a view to enabling them to spread the Buddhist Dharma via local projects. Dr Brazier will not benefit financially from such grants. 

In summary, 2022-23 has been spent in recovery mode from the pandemic, working with ITZI Spain to realise the grant offered, following the progress of students on the BP course, and looking to revitalise our activities. 

We attach the accounts for 2022-23 and the report of our independent examiner. Policies will be updated separately from this document.
