**Objects:** THE SOCIETY IS ESTABLISHED FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN COLYTON AND ITS SURROUNDING DISTRICT (WHICH AREA SHALL HEREINAFTER BE REFERRED TO AS 'THE AREA OF BENEFIT' TO:(A) TO FURTHER THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC IN THE HISTORY OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND TO PROMOTE AND FOSTER PUBLIC KNOWLEDGE, UNDERSTANDING AND APPRECIATION OF THE HISTORY OF THE AREA IN GENERAL, IN PARTICULAR BY THE PROVISION OF A MUSEUM.(B) TO UNDERTAKE RESEARCH INTO THE HISTORY OF THE AREA OF BENEFIT AND TO DISSEMINATE THE USEFUL RESULT'S OF SUCH RESEARCH FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT.

**Activities:** The Society aims to promote and foster public knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the history of Colyton Parish. There is a museum and display at the Heritage Centre together with a research room for those interested in local and family history.  Regular town walks take place for those  interested in the history of the buildings, and a series of monthly talks and discussions are held.
