The Iruslees present their annual report and financial statements for the year ended 30 September 2023.
The financial Slalemenls have been prepared in accordancè %￿lh the accounting policies sel out in note 1 to the
financial slalemenls and comply with the charity's trust deed dated 1 April 2016 and the supplemental deeds
dated 15 November 2016 and 20 November 2018, the Charities Act 2011 and 'Accounling and Reporting by
Charities. Slalemenl ol Recommended Practice applicable lo charities preparing their account5 in accordance
with the Financial Reporting S18ndard applicable in the UK and Republic ol Ireland IFRS 1021" las amended for
accounting periods commencing from 1 January 20191

The tharily's objects are sel out below..
To protect prèserve and advance the physical and emotional health and well-being of those suffering
from illnèss, bereèvgmenl or loss of close family members by the provision of support facilities 8nd
services.

The charity achieve5 Ils objectives prlncipally by collecllng voluntary donations and applying those funds towards
charitable eauses considered by the Iruslees lo meet the charity's conslilulional objectives.
The Iruslees confirm th81 they have referred lo the guidance contained in the Charity Commission's general
guidance on public benefit when reviewing the charity'8 aims and objectives 8nd in planning lulure activities and
In selling grant making policy.
Achlevements and performance
The charity has conlinued making grants in accordance with ils objective8 and acllvitles. The trustees are
satisfied with the activities ol the charity 8nd the arnounl paid in grants.

Total incoming resourcos during the year amounted lo £3,172,878 12022.. £3.193,8981 which is attributable to
donations received.
Total resources expended in the year amounted lo £3,143.669 12022.. £3,203,108) which included grants of
£3,132,81812022.. £3,195,471) and support given to individuals of £0 12022. £5621. Grants are lor the relief of
poverty Support are payments made on behalf of individuals who are in need of help due lo Illness or
bereavement.
Reserve pollcy
The eharily has continued lo support appropriate charitable causes. Funding for them is from donations which
the charity distributes as they are received. The policy ol the charity is lo maximise the funds thal il ¥aises so that
it can continue lo meet It5 aims and objectives in the future. At 30 September 2023 the charity had unrestricted
funds of £94,79312022. £65.584I.
Risk
The Iruslees have assessed the major risks lo which the charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in
place lo miligale exposure lo the major risks. The principal risk identifièd is a fall in donations which would reslTiCt
the charity's activities and accordingly il continually maximises ils fund raising efforts.

One Heart-Lev Echod is registered as a charity with the Charity Commisslon in England and Wales. The
principal office address is Flat 9, Davis Court, Saw Mill Way, London N16 6AG.
1.1 Accountlng conventlon
The fi'nanaal slalemenls have been prepared in accordance with th8 charity's trust deed dated 1 April 2016
and the supplemental trust deeds dated 15 November 2016 and 20 November 2018. the Charities Act 2011
and "Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable lo charities
preparing their aceounls in aecordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and
Republic of Ireland IFRS 1021" las amended for accounting periods commencing from 1 January 20191. The
charity is a Public 8enefil Entity as defined by FRS 102.
The financial sla18menls have departed from the Charities (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 only lo
the exlenl required lo provide a true and fair view. This departure has involved lollowing the Slalemenl of
Recommended Practice for charllies applying FRS 102 rather than the version ol the Slalemenl ol
Recommended Practice which Is referred lo in the Regulations but which has since been wilhdiawn.
Th8 finanthal slalemenl8 are prepared in sterling. which is the funelional currency of the charity. Monetary
amounts in Ihese financial 61alemenls are rounded lo the nearest £.
The flnancial 8lalementg havt been prepared under the historical cost convention. The principal accounting
policies adopted are sel out below.
1,2 Golng concern
Al the time of approving the Ilnancial slalemenls, the trustees have a reasonable expectation that the charlly
has adequate re8ource8 lo continue in operational existence lor the foreseeable lulure. Thus the Iruslees
continue lo adopt the going concern basis ol accounting in preparing the financial slalemenls.
1.3 Charltabl• fund$
Unreslricled funds are available for use al the discretion of the trustees in further8nce ol their charil8ble
objectives unless the funds have been dewgnaled lor other purposes.
All the Gharily's fund5 are unreslricled, it has no restricted or endowed funds.
1.4 Incomlng resourcès
Income is recognised when the charity is legally enlilled lo il after any perfomiance conditions have been met,
the amounts can be m8a8ured reliably. and il is probable that income will be received.
1.5 Resourc•s •xpendgd
All expenditure is accounted for tsn an accruals basis and has been classified under headings that aggregate
all costs relatgd lo the category. Where costs cannot be directly altribuled to particular headings they have
been allocated lo activities on a basis consislenl with use of the resources.
Grants are fecognised in the accounts once the application has been approved.
1.6 Cash and cash equlvalents
Cash and cash equivalents include cash in hand, deposits held al call with banks.
1.7 Flnanclal Instruments
The charity has elecied lo apply the provisions of Seth'on 11 'Basic Financial Inslrumenls, and Section 12
'Olher Financial Instruments Issues, of FRS 102 to all of its linancial instruments.
