## **About Imam Charity** 

In the Muslim community, Imams are more than just mosque leaders, they are mentors, advisors, and bridges between cultures. To truly support their congregations in the UK, Imams need a deep understanding of both sacred Islamic teachings and the realities of modern British life. 

Imam charity trustees understand that the root-cause of the problems that many Imams encounter are mainly due to the absence of solid academic background in Islamic principles which distance them from properly addressing modern issues that local community members face like hate related crimes, unlawful drugs, discrimination, Islamophobia, unemployment and mental health issues. 

Additionally, a limited grasp of British law and culture can hinder their ability to help the community integrate effectively. Our charity bridges this gap by offering highquality training and professional development. By empowering these community pillars with the right education, we ensure they can lead their congregations toward a more prosperous, productive, and well-integrated future.

## **Charitable Activities: South Africa – May 2025** 

Our Trustees conducted a series of highly regarded initiatives in South 

Africa designed to deepen religious awareness and strengthen the social impact of Imams within their local communities. 

##  **Professional Training** 

## **Interactive workshops** 

We delivered interactive workshops focused on modernising the skill sets of religious leaders to better serve a contemporary society. 

## **Marriage life and Family Reform** 

In partnership with the International Peace College South Africa (IPSA), we conducted a specialized four-day intensive course titled _"Marriage Life and Family Reform,"_ providing Imams with practical tools for domestic mediation and pastoral care. 

##  **Educational Seminars & Scholarly Lectures** 

## **Jurisprudence for Minorities** 

At the Council of Scholars, we presented a technical lecture on _"Contemporary Applications in Minority Jurisprudence."_ This session focused on adapting traditional legal maxims (Fiqh) to the unique socio-legal context of South Africa. 

## **The Art of Da’wah** 

Facilitated at the Al-Noor Center, this seminar for African Dua’as (callers to faith) addressed the "Art of Da’wah and its Challenges." Discussions centred on the ethical and social responsibilities Muslims hold toward their wider non-Muslim communities. 

##  **Strategic Initiatives** 

## **Founding of the "Wasatiya Forum" (Centrism Forum):** 

Our Trustees played a pivotal role in the inaugural meeting of this strategic body. The Forum was established to promote a balanced, centrist approach to Islam, focusing on three core pillars: 

- Leadership Development 

- Educational Outreach (Da’wah) 

- Preservation of Family Values 



This founding session was attended by a distinguished group of international scholars and legal experts, marking a significant step toward unified, moderate community guidance 



## **Charitable Activities: Cyprus – July 2025** 

## **Specialised Academic Workshops** 

Our Trustees delivered a series of three intensive academic courses designed to equip religious leaders with the technical and social tools necessary for modern ministry: 

## 1. **Fundamentals of Contemporary Iftaa:** 

This course provided a rigorous analysis of the principles behind issuing legal rulings ( _fatwas_ ) in a modern context, ensuring that guidance remains both religiously sound and practically relevant. 

## 2. **Methodological Foundations of Minority Jurisprudence:** 

Focused on _Fiqh al-Aqalliyyat_ , this workshop explored the legal and ethical 

frameworks essential for Muslims living in non-Muslim majority countries, emphasizing civic engagement and social harmony. 

## 3. **The Role of the Imam in Family Reconciliation:** 

This session highlighted the Imam’s critical social responsibility as a mediator. It provided practical strategies for resolving domestic issues and strengthening family structures within the community. 



## **Charitable Activities: Indonesia – Aug 2025** 

The past year was a period of significant growth and achievement for our charity. We successfully delivered academic conferences and workshops to **over 5,720 participants** , strengthening the professional and religious capacity of Imams and congregation prayers leaders in Indonesia. 

Our Trustees conducted high-level academic visits and delivered expert lectures at prestigious institutions, including the **Faculty of Da'wah and Communication** and the **Faculty of Usul al-Din at BAZNAS University** . These sessions covered critical contemporary themes: 

- **The Halal Industry & Food Standards:** Specialized conferences addressing global compliance, certification processes, and the ethical standards of the Halal food sector. 

- **Contemporary Fatwa & Jurisprudence:** Technical workshops designed to equip scholars with the methodological tools needed to issue legal rulings in a modern, complex world. 

- **Islamic Economics & Finance:** Consultative sessions held in collaboration with the **National Committee for Islamic Economy** , focusing on sustainable and ethical economic models. 

- **Institutional & Organisational Management:** Strategic discussions aimed at improving the governance, transparency, and operational structures of Islamic institutions. 

By reaching over 5,720 participants, these initiatives have not only enhanced the professional capacity of individual leaders but have also laid the groundwork for stronger, more resilient communities. These sessions ensure that Islamic leadership remains intellectually rigorous, ethically grounded, and fully equipped to contribute positively to the social coherence within their communities. 

The Trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit. By equipping religious leaders with a mastery of both Islamic principles and British cultural values, our work fosters social cohesion and empowers Imams to tackle complex issues like discrimination and mental health. This serves the public benefit by building a more connected, productive, and wellintegrated society.
