**the production of an updated printed**
**Catalogue of the LSA Art Collection. The**
**2016 version had sold out and needed**
**updating. 200 copies of the 2023 edition**
**were printed, they were well received at**
**the event organised to ‘Launch’ the**
**Catalogue and celebrate it. Copies were**
**in demand on the day and have been**
**since and are on sale at our local**
**Heritage Centre. The very attractive**
**Catalogue helps raise awareness of the**
**Collection.**
**We began online banking and bought a**
**SumUp machine to enable payments by**
**bacs and credit cards.**
**We applied for and received Gift Aid**
**giving us a welcome influx of money.**
**£3,900 was paid so that the Lancashire**
**County Council Conservation Studios**
**could begin conservation work on a**
**Richard Ansdell painting, ‘Startled Deer’.**
**When the work was complete an event**
**was organised to display and celebrate it.**
**Individuals attending this successful,**
**well attended function could see how**
**worthwhile our work is in raising funds**
**for conservation. Being held in the Town**
**Hall it also created an opportunity for**
**viewing other artworks belonging to the**
**Collection.**
**Two Newsletters – A5 printed booklets –**
**were as always produced in May and**| |||**November. They are delivered to**
**members and given to interested parties.**
**They have become very popular and**
**always generate good feedback. They**
**keep Members updated, informed and**
**interested.**
**Later in the year Christmas cards and**
**Calendars were printed and sold.**
**Although Fylde Council are the**
**custodians of the Collection, our charity**
**is the ‘face’ of it with our two websites**
**and all our activities. Consequently it is**
**through us that offers of donations of**
**artworks are received. Help is then given**
**to submit them and all those offered**
**during 2023 were accepted into the**
**Collection. Hence the Collection**

**increased from 146 to 182. An event early**
**in the year was very successful, there**
**was a special offer of half price**
**membership to new members on the day**
**– 22 joined. This widened interest of the**
**Collection within our community.**
**A local firm of Solicitors offered to and**
**have become our Honorary Solicitors.**
**We have an excellent Speaker who gives**
**talks about the Collection. She gave**
**several during 2023 and generated much**
**interest in our Collection.**
**As in previous years, several viewers, at**
**home and abroad use our 2 websites to**
**ask for and provide information via the**
**Contact Pages. As a result of some**
**exchanges we have individuals donating**
**artworks to the Collection.**
**Financially, we were pleased to receive**
**the Gift Aid we applied for.**
**Going online with our banking made**
**payments easier for many individuals.**
**The 2 Newsletters produced as always in**
**May and November were enjoyed and**
**appreciated. They contain interesting**
**articles and keep members updated and**
**informed. They are also used as give**
**aways.**
**We managed to save an important local**
**artwork from being sent to auction. It was**
**bought using a donation of £6,000 given**
**by a member and is in the process of**
**being given to the Collection when terms**
**are agreed for it to continue to hang in**
**Lytham Hall. This achievement generated**
**a great deal of publicity with all the**
**celebrating which went with it.**
**A set of small notelets with seascapes**
**were printed which have proved popular.**
**They sold along with Xmas cards and an**
**attractive, informative Calendar later in**
**the year. Also good as giveaways to key**
**individuals.**
**A 2-year Project was completed to revise**
**and reprint our 2016 Catalogue after**
**many hours work by our Research Team.**
**An event was held to‘launch’ it. The 2023**| **Edition of the Catalogue was very well received and all were satisfied with a job well done.** **The Town Hall opened its doors for Heritage Open Day in September and we were there to show visitors any paintings from the Collection hanging on the walls.** ## **Additional information (optional)** You may choose to include further statements where relevant about: |
