There are no committees or sub-groups.
Governance
The Trustees meet twice a year and can attend in person or via Zoom, with all actions formally minuted. Agendas are issued prior to the meetings and minutes are duly approved by the trustees at the following meeting.
A copy of the approved minutes is sent to the Secretary of St Andrew’s Church Council.
Meetings in 2025 took place on 15.5.25 & 23.10.25
Wendy Davies has joined the Trustees. No other changes.

New trustees are recruited by invitation of the existing trustees from within the body of St Andrew’s Church. They are known to the existing trustees and are generally recruited on the basis of a particular skill or experience they have to offer.
3. Objectives and Activities
The mission of the Charity is :
To promote the ministry and work of St. Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia by raising, holding and dispersing funds to build the mission and work of St. Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia within the Anglican Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf in the Episcopal Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East.
Activities and Achievements in 2025

Social and cultural events taking place in the church and church hall, including musical concerts during the year.

Lent and Advent Bible Study group, meeting at The Hermitage

Fundraising and support for local and international charities (e.g. Harvest Festival donations and funds raised for Tulips Charity for cancer sufferers in N Cyprus, Poppy Appeal, etc.)

Use of church premises by other Christian groups for worship, including a Francophone African Church and a Russian Evangelical Church.

Use of church premises by local groups for social activities (mother & toddler group, country dancing classes, etc.)

Provision of expenses for the priest.
Public Benefit

St Andrew’s is the only Anglican Church in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus with an ordained priest and thus provides ministry for a large geographical area of the island.

Services are attended by worshippers from many parts of the world, who live, work in or visit the Kyrenia area, including: UK, Ireland, Germany, Scandanavia, Russia, Turkey, Pakistan, India, Nepal, Nigeria, DRC, Phillipines.

Worshippers come from a variety of Christian traditions, including Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic and Orthodox. The church provides worship and also fellowship and belonging for people a long way from home - particularly students and migrant workers.

Centrally located, the church provides a hub and focus for Christians in and around Kyrenia.

St Andrew’s publicises regular and special events through its website, Facebook and Instagram pages. Facebook posts are shared to other local groups, to extend our reach to others in N Cyprus.

All members of the community are invited to worship with us and use are facilities. Services and events are publicly advertised.

4. Financial Review

As of December 2025 there were 12 regular donors via standing orders (15 in 2024)

Other (non gift-aided) donations and grants into the Unity Trust account totalled £6,984

A grant of £2,647 was received from JEMT (Cyprus)* towards a new boiler and updated central heating in the priest’s house. This is included under donations.

Expenditure
All payments made by the Charity were at the request of the Church Council and in accordance with the Charity purposes and governing document, where the UK Charity account was considered the most convenient means of delivering these payments.

Synod costs for our representative were £788. Registration fee for 2025 - for 3 delegates – was paid in 2024

- Annual income (not including the JEMT grant in 2023) has grown since Covid, but not reached pre-Covid levels.
The balance that has built up is due partly to decreased expenditure during Covid and the period when there was no paid priest, together with some specific one-off donations.

St Andrew’s UK Charity makes regular stewardship straightforward for donors with UK bank accounts, who can donate by standing order.

Those who pay UK tax can also Gift Aid their donations.

The Trustees continue to work to make church members aware of the importance of stewardship.

The Trustees continue to look into ways of transferring some of the funds held in this account into a higher interest account.

5. Plans for Future Periods
Our objectives, as outined in our mission statement (above) remain unchanged. Our plans for the future include the continuation and development of:

6. Policies
St Andrew’s Church Kyrenia UK Charity is a small organisation, which serves to promote the ministry and work of St. Andrew’s Church, Kyrenia.
The policies of St. Andrew’s Church and of the Diocese of Cyprus and the Gulf apply to St. Andrew’s Church Kyrenia UK Charity
The charity has no employees and organises no activities (aside from its own meetings) independently of St. Andrew’s Church.
7. Statement of Trustees' Responsibilities
It is the responsibility of St Andrew’s Church Kyrenia UK Charity Trustees to act at all times in accordance with the Constitution of St Andrew’s Church Kyrenia UK Charity, dated 11th May 2016.
Trustees must ensure that payments made by the Charity are at the request of St Andrew’s Church Council and in accordance with the Charity purposes and governing document, where the UK Charity account is considered the most convenient means.

8. Independent Auditor's Report
The Church Accounts for the year ending 31st December 2025 were independently examined by Mr Kieron King:

The Jerusalem and the East Mission Trust Limited (JEMT) and The Jerusalem and the Middle East Church Association (JMECA)
The Jerusalem and the East Mission was established in the 19[th] Century, as a fund for the maintenance and development of the Diocese.
This later became The Jerusalem and the Middle East Church Association (Charity no. 248799).
On July 1st, 2015 JMECA became a Limited Company Charity with, a new charity number (11584760) and a Company Number (09067852)
The charity supports the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East and the Province of Alexandria.
The Jerusalem and the East Mission Trust Limited is a Trust Corporation established in 1929 to act as a trustee for charitable bodies. JEMT is not itself a charity, but a non-profit limited company that administers the assets of JMECA and a number of other charities that provide support for the Province of Jerusalem and the Middle East.
