## **Objectives and activities** 

The purpose of the charity, as set out in its governing document, is the advancement in life of young people aged between 13 and 25 by providing grants to enable them to access recreational and leisure time activities provided in the interest of social welfare, designed to improve their conditions of life and support activities which develop their skills, capacities and capabilities to enable them to participate in society as mature and responsible individuals. 

## **Activities and achievements** 

During the year, the Trust did not make any charitable grants. The trustees' ability to progress grant-making activity was affected by overseas commitments and ill health during the period. The Trust nevertheless remained available to pursue its charitable objects and retained its funds for future grant-making. The trustees intend to resume active consideration of suitable grant opportunities as circumstances permit. 

## **Public benefit** 

The trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit when planning and carrying out the charity's activities. 

## **Financial review** 

The charity's opening funds at 6 April 2023 were £20,880.45. No income was received during the year. Payments totalled £60.00, comprising bank charges. No charitable grants were made during the year, reflecting the limited capacity of the trustees to progress grant-making activity because of overseas commitments and ill health. Closing funds at 5 April 2024 were £20,820.45. 

## **Reserves policy** 

The trustees maintain unrestricted reserves to provide financial continuity and to enable the Trust to continue making grants in furtherance of its charitable objects. The level of reserves is reviewed by the trustees in the light of anticipated grant-making activity and the charity's financial commitments. 

## **Trustee remuneration and expenses** 

No trustee received any remuneration, benefits or reimbursement of expenses from the charity during the year.
