- (a) Support the advancement of professional rescue in UK fire and rescue services and other rescue services through a range of activities and products, all of which serve the needs of the rescue community in its widest sense, from service providers, suppliers, researchers and training organisations. 

**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document** 

- (b) Promote the protection and preservation of human life by developing and promoting best practice in rescue extrication and recovery techniques. 

- (c) Advance the education of the rescue services in the UK and overseas by providing training and experience in rescue extrication and recovery techniques. 

- (d) Advance the education of the public in rescue extrication and recovery techniques. 

- (e) Advance the education of the public in road and community safety matters. 

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 

From 16 -18 September 2021, UKRO, in partnership with Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, held the 2021 Festival of Rescue. The event included 23 extrication teams, 22 trauma teams, 9 water teams, 8 rope rescue and 4 USAR teams. The WRO Chair was our special guest and a water team from Luxembourg took part. At the 2021 Challenge, UKRO provided two extrication workshops (Vehicle relocation & Electric vehicles), two medical workshops (clearing spinal injuries and a secondary survey), one rope workshop, and one water workshop. Tyne and Wear Fire Service also provided input on Lithium-Ion Batteries. UKRO launched its new business plan A new website was developed to offer new user engagement to site. UKRO Academy obtained IFE approved status UKRO developed an extrication competency framework to support National Operational Guidance UKRO is supporting the research on the risks liked to Lithium-Ion Battery The UKRO Global Directorate continues its work and support of a number of international partners, including Ukraine, Serbia, Ghana, Romania, Moldova and Georgia. In addition, work to develop new projects in Nepal and Hungary are ongoing. International travel as a result of the pandemic has seen significant curtailment of in country development, however ongoing remote support has continued over 2020 and 2021. In 2022, the UKRO Global team anticipate a move to nearer normal activity with a number of projects planning for in country work. In 2021 a meeting of all UKRO International Development project managers took place as part of a refresh of our international work and to establish clear areas of work and priority for 2022/23. The UKRO Global section in the new UKRO Website will be updated to include existing and new projects as international travel and recovery within countries sees an increase in international development work.

Our main source of income is the entry fees from the National Challenge supplemented by income from our Academy subscriptions, provision of services and sponsorship.
