and science of the music in all its

advance the education of children and
young people, in particular, to appreciate,
learn and participate in brass band music

took part in 11 competitions, all of which
were open to members of the public. The
band played 4 marching engagements.
Additionally 9 Christmas carolling events
were perfomied in and around the town
of Longridge.

A Youth Band, with 30 playing members,
is promoted, encouraged and nurtured.
The Youth Band performed at the Proms
Concert, the Christmas Concert and on
Longridge Field Day. They also had their
own concert at St Lawrence's Church.
The Trustees are mindful of their
responsibility to promote the band in its
activities with regard to the Public's
benefit.

Throughout the year under review, The
Longridge Band actively supported the
community In whlch It resides. The band
played a prominent role in the social life
of the town and in and around local
villages, playlng at local festivals,
Christmas and Remembrance Parades
and services.
