## **ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS FOR THE PERIOD ENDING 31 DECEMBER 2020**

This report covers the period for the calendar year 1 January to 31 December 2020.

## REPORT

## OBJECTIVES AND ACTIVITIES

The object of the Matthew Ministry is:

To promote and advance the Christian faith in accordance with the statement of faith set out in the schedule appended to this constitution, primarily (but not exclusively) in and around the city of Cambridge.

The Matthew Ministry was formed on 8 March 2016.

During 2020, the main activity of the charity has comprised investigation of possibilities for the purchase of residential property in Cambridge to house workers engaged in promoting and advancing the Christian faith in the city.

The Trustees have considered the Charity Commission's guidance on public benefit and, in particular, the specific guidance on charities for the advancement of religion.

## ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

During 2020, plans were made to fund the purchase of a TV camera to the value of £2,142 to assist with the production of live-streamed church services, as necessitated in the first instance by restrictions on in-person church attendance imposed as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic. The initial purpose of the TV camera is to live-stream services and events from the church of St Andrew the Great in Cambridge, including their regular Sunday services which are freely accessible online at https://stag.org/livestream for the benefit of the general public. The camera was purchased in January 2021.

The charity also continued to make plans for the purchase of residential property in Cambridge to house workers engaged in promoting and advancing the Christian faith in the city.

## FINANCIAL REVIEW

Two one-off donations were received during the year from St Andrew the Great Church.
