To assist in the smooth running of the charity the trustees have employed a
nutnber of personnel that help them oversee certain aspects of the charity's work.
Personnel are currently employed for finance and for the day-to4ay management
of the building and report back with their recommendations to the full meeting of
the trustees. The day-to-day management of the centre and community facilities
and projects are delegated to the personnel.

Our objectives are set to reflect our community aims. Each year our trustees
review our objectives and activities to ensure they continue to reflect our aims. In

carrying out this review the trustees have considered the Charity Commission's
general guidance on public benefit and in particular its supplementary public
guidance on the advancement of education for the public benefit.
The charity carries out a wide range of actlvities in pursuance of its
charitable aims. The trustees consider that these activities, summarised
below, provide benefit both to those who uses our community centre and
| the wider community of Morden and neighbouring Cities.
Morden Education & Cultural Centre is a charity committed to the educational
supp?rt 2nd ?roviding frae c9mp1e￿,e￿.tary education programs for people in
Morden area. We champion and serve the primary goal advancing the education
of the public in the subjects of English Language, Life in the UK and several
ethnic languages.
The supplementary educational support out of school hours which is provided by
our Gommunity members ana. teachers on a voluntary basis act as crucial
information and advocacy points for adults as well as children in our region. The
language courses we provide are designed to improve the level of English of
those who struggle io communicate and educate. Our programs aim for raising
aspirations and engagement that are essential components to remove the
language oarrier nence reducing tailures in the classroom or at work.

Morden Education & Cultural Centre will focus primarily on young people with
the aim of advancing community development through language and cultural
education.
Our Piirposes:
Morden Education & Cultural Centre is being established to provide
supplementary education, place and materials in Morden area for young people
who al-e 8:rdsbryling in formal education due to language barrier. tradition etc.
We provide the following:
Language courses: The PAorden area has accommodated a large number of
Turkish speakina Deople N'.oo have moved in the area in the last two years. We
have been funded to run a three-year project to provide English language
classes for these new residents to enable them to settle and integrate more
easily into the local community. We focus on developing language skills of young
people wiio needJ aoaitionai support In language skills. The language courses
we provide are designed to improve the level of English of young people who
struggle to communicate and educate. At present many families have shown
interest in this scheme and all have made considerable progress in obtaining a
functional undersianding and use of Ènglish in day-to-day situations.

Homework support: Some young people need support due to falling behind in
their studies. Our volunteer teachers provide homework support and materials to
those who are in need of supplementary study support.
Hall and Rooins: Our hall and meetiiig rooms are available for use by local
groups and organisations. This year alone the facilities have been used by
groups as varied as the local karate club and the local chess club. Local
charities are encouraged to make use of our meeting rooms. and we host
surgeries with boEh local Councillors and the MP for Morden. When facilities are
I not required tor community use they are available for hire on commercial terms.
This year alone our Tacilities have been used on over 100 occasions and over 20
I groups, or organisaiions have benefited from the facilities we can offer the local
community.

Volunteers are an important resource in community work. This year our Charity
has achieved to reach over 1.000 Turk.ish speaking people in Morden and

helped us organise and conduct more charitable and fund-raising activities than
last year. Volunteers are involvea in most of our community activities and we
have now over 30 people regularly giving their time.
Our language course and homework support sessions have proved to be very
successful as we witnessed considerable improvements on some of the students
who did not ao well in 'ihe previous years.
We also promoted and supported the right of parents to home educate their
children as an adcjitional support to sustain success of their children.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31 March 2025. 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
