It is a member of the Benefice of Sileby, Cossington. and Seagrave in the Di0Se of Leicester. The PCC operates under the Parochial Church Council Powers Measur8. The PCC is a charity excepted by order from registrats'on with the Charity Commission. The method of appointment of the PCC members is set out in the Church Representation Rules. All Church attendees are encouraged to register on the Electoral Roll and Star for electson to the PCC. Ob"ective8 and Activities The PCC'S obpth.ves and operations are framed in the contsxt of the church as a fellowship of believers who belong to Christ and who worship him as Lord. We seek.. •To come doser to God through the study of the Bible and prayer. •To serve the local communty and the wider world in the power of the Holy Spirit.
•To help others to bebng to Christ through ring and sharing in God's Good News and love. EltoTal Roll As at 31 Dember 2020 there were 62 member5 (66 members at 31.12 19). During the Covid 19 Pandemic the APCM which would have been held in April 2020 but was not hekl until 14th October 2020. AII PCC rntingS have been hekl on-line. Since April 2020 we have held 5 PCC meeb.ngs on-line. This has been a very drfferent and difficutt year for everyone both within our church family but also for our village. benefice. nation and world. We were unable to hold ServIS within our church building from 23rd March 2020, until late Augusvseptember and these yre govemed by govemment guidelines with hygiene. wearing of masks and social distancing being followed. The number of people who attended was approximately 25-30 per week and we give thanks that tfrY felt able to come and share fellowship together. For many, the eklerly and those with health problems, this was not possible. We give thanks and prayers that throughout our Lord has always been with us to give us his comfort and peace, helping us to deal each day with all that we feel, giving us wisdom and strength and a sure and steadfast hope for each day. Throughout this time Duncan has led us in worship week by week. wrth on-line services, prayers, coffee times together and some social events such as quizzes. We pray for Duncan that God will continue to guide him and sustain him and that his teachings will be farthful and true to God's Word in the Bible. We continue to pray for his health and strength, for his time supporting all church Pamily and for his time with his own family. We pray that those people who have joined the services on-line may feel God calling them to join us in our church services, to be part of our church family And to share in fellowship and fnendships. During this past year some members of the church family have left our church to move to other areas of the country. John and Geraldine Harrison have moved away. We pray for all that God will continue to guide and bless them. There has been a s@nfficant decrease in leaders for the children's groups. Joy has continually supported the children and young people from Momentum and ASK, has provided packs for at home and when possible they have met for a few weeks, when restrictions were lifted. Our prayers and thanks are with Joy and we pray that these children may continue to want to know more about Jesus in their lives. We give thanks for Amanda and those supporting her for their loving work with the older young people in Deep Impact and pray they will also find Jesus in their lives, for his spirit to give them guidan. comfort and peace. particularty in these drfficuft times. The Food Bank has supported families within village and has been a real outreach to all these, showing love, conrn and practical help. We are very grateful for all WIK) provide the food week by week and for the team that administer it.
We give our praise and prayers and thanks to our lovityJ Lord who is ever constsnt and true in all of our INes that we may know his presence with us day by day and find strength and hope through his Holy Spirrt. We pray that through Ihese difficult times we may all work together. to love and support each other and to reach out to those in our communty to to know and love our Lord. Financial Report for the Yr to 31 DO¢omr 2020 The total receipts on untricted fuThls was £60,203.71. A totsl of £60.878.98 was used to provide Christian Ministy from St MaS Church. the contribution to Parish Share and the running costs of the Benefi. with additional furKls totalling £3690.00 being transferred to erther designated or restricted funds. Receipts on restn.cted funds for the year to 31112120 was £66,535.73 which includes £47.464.51 for Friends of St. Mary'8. Also included in this is ts Fee Account, which is for the parishes of Sileby, Cossington and Seagrave. On the advice of the Diocese we only show the excess of receipts over payments relating to St Mary's in the account.(see also note 8 in the accounts). Grft Aid has been received from HMRC for all qualifying donations to 30th November 2020. £2,000 has been set aside towards the eventual replacement of our church central heating boiler.
Independent examinerfs report to the members of St Mary's Church, Sileby, Parochial Church Council. I report on the accounts for the year ended 31st Decemb8r 2020 which are sel out on pages 1 to 7. Respective responsibilities of the Truste•s and Independont Examinor As trUstS of the charity, the members of the PCC are responsible for the preparation of the accounts. They consider that an audit is not required for this year under section 144(2) of the Charities Act 2011 (the 2011 Aci) and thal an independent examination is needed. It is my responsibility to examine the accounts under section 145 of the 2011 Act. follow the prOdureS latd down in the Gener81 Direclions given by the Charrty Commissioners Section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act; and state whether particular matters have come to my attention. Ba•ls of Indepondent Examlnorfs Statsment My examination was carried out in accordance with the General Directions given by the Charity Commission. An examination includes a review of the accounts'ng records kept by the tharity and a comparlson of the accounts presented with those records. It also includes consKleration of any unusual rtems or disclosures in the accounts, and seeklng explanatlons from the m8nagement committee concerning any such matters. The procedures undertaken do not provide all the evidence thal would be required in a full audrt, and consequently I do not express an audit opinion on the accounts. Indopendent Examlngrf• Ststsment In connection with my examination, no matters have come to my attention which glve me reasonable cause to believe that in any material respect the requirements to keep accounting records in accordan with s.130 of the 2011 Act; or to prepare accounts which accord with these accounting records have not been met,. or 2. to whlch, in my opinion. attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understandlNJ of the accounts to be reached.
