## **REPORT OF THE TRUSTEES FOR THE YEAR ENDING 31 DECEMBER 2021**
The trustees of Anonymous Child (“AC”), a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (“CIO”), present their annual report and unaudited accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021 and confirm that they comply with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 and AC’s governing document.
In preparing this document, the trustees note the typographical error in the annual report for the year ending 31 December 2021, which stated in the introductory paragraph that the annual report and unaudited accounts presented at that time were for the year ending 31 December 2019. This should have read “2020”. The title of the report and the financial period in the accounts themselves were correctly stated.
## **AIMS & OBJECTIVES**
AC aims to fight the cycle of poverty and inequality through the power of education that enables the most vulnerable group of society – children and young adults – to become a positive driving force within their communities. We envision a world where all children and young people, regardless of their economic background, are given access to high-quality education and care to ensure a fair start in life and set them on the path towards a brighter future.
Our registered objects are the relief of those in need because of youth, age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage and any other solely charitable purpose for the public benefit under English law as the Trustees may specify. We aim to fulfil these objectives by supporting and providing education initiatives such as afternoon classes, mentorship programmes, continuing development classes for teachers, scholarships, and grants.
## **REVIEW OF ACTIVITIES AND ACHIEVEMENTS**
During the period covered by this Report (1 January 2021 to 31 December 2021), Anonymous Child’s programme in co-operation with Anonymous Child Peru, a charity registered in Peru, and Fe Y Alegria remained closed in accordance with local Coronavirus restrictions. We look forward to reopening the school once all restrictions are lifted.
## **FUTURE PLANS**
In conjunction with its associated charities in Germany, the USA and Peru, Anonymous Child continues to explore and consider opportunities and other programmes to expand our work and reach. The funding is in place for the afterschool class to relaunch once we are given the go-ahead, and the students will be provided – as previously – with a meal between the end of the morning state education and our after-school classes. That aside, our focus will be to explore other opportunities and to ensure any such future projects financially viable.

## **STRUCTURE, GOVERNANCE AND MANAGEMENT**
Anonymous Child is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) and is governed by a Constitution adopted on 6 July 2017 and filed with the Charity Commission. Trustees are recruited and appointed after consideration by the existing Trustees of suitability and the benefit that individual can bring to the organisation and in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Constitution. At all times, Anonymous Child and its Trustees give due regard to the guidance on public benefit published by the Charity Commission when exercising their powers or duties.
