l) Accounting Policies
Summary of5ignific2nt accounting poli¢iÈs 2nd key accountSng estimates
The printiple accounting policie5 applied the preparation ol these financial statements are set outbelow. These policie5
have been consistently applied to all years presented, unless otherwise stated.
Statement of compliance
The financial sratements have been prÈpared under in accordartte with the Statement of Recotntnended Practice
'Accounting and RÉportlng by Charities (SORP),.
Basis of prepar3titstJ
These financial statements have been preparÈd uslng the hlstoric c05t convention, unless otherwise st3ted in the
accounting policies.
Income
Unrestricted incotne funds are general funds that are avallable for use at the trusieÈs' dlscretion in furtheran¢È of the
objective of the charity.
Restricted funds 2ro those donated (or use ID partieular area ofspecific purposes, the use of which is restricted to that area
or purpose.
Expendlture
Cost of ralslng funds relate to those speclNc costs incurred in tsrEanls5ng and staging fundrai51llE events alld seeking
voluntary contributions together with attrlbutable support costs.
Charitable expenditure comprises those tosts incurred by the charity in the delivery of its activities and Services for its
beneficiaries. It includes both costs that can be allocated directly to such activitie5 3nd those costs of an indirect nature
necessary to support them.
Governance costs cDmprlse those costs associated with meetlng the constitubonal and strateglc requirements of the
charlry and the audit fees and costs Ilnked to strategic management of the charity.
Taxation
A5 a registered charlty, the company is exempt from income and corporation tax to the extent that its income and gain5
are applied to charitable purpose only.
Golng concern
At the tirne of approving the financial statements, the trustee5 have a reasonable expectation that thé Charlry ha5
adequate resources to continue in operational existÈnce for the foreseeable future. Thus the trustees, contiDue ￿ adopt
the goiiig concern b35is in atcounting in preparation of financffial statements.
Debtoi's
Debtors and other receivable are recogllised initially at the transactlon price. Tliey are subseqllenrly measured at
amortised cost using the etfective interest method, less provision for impalrrnent. A prov2sion for the Impairnient is
established when there is objective evidertce that the group will not be ablÈ to collect all amount5 due accordlng to the
original terms of the receivables.
Credltors
Creditors are obllgarion to pay at the ba12nce sheet date as a result of past event, it is probable that a transfer of ecoiiomic
benefit will be required in settlement, and the 2meunt of the settletnent can be estimated reliably. Creditors are
recogiiised at the arnourtt that tlie charity anticipates it wlll pay to settle the debt orthe amount it has received as advance
payments lor the goods or servlce It must provide.
