(A) THE RELIEF OF THOSE IN NEED, THE ADVANCEMENT OF EDUCATION (AND TRAINING) AND THE PROMOTION OF GOOD HEALTH AND WELLBEING ALL FOR THE PUBLIC BENEFIT IN BRIDPORT DORSET (THE “AREA OF BENEFIT”) IN PARTICULAR BUT NOT EXCLUSIVELY BY RELIEVING, PREVENTING AND ASSISTING PEOPLE IN NEED OF JOBS, SKILLS, EDUCATION AND BETTER DIETS PARTICULARLY  THOSE WHO ARE POORLY TRAINED, LIVING IN UNSUITABLE HOUSING, ON LOW PAY (INCLUDING THOSE ON ZERO HOUR CONTRACTS), WHO ARE UNSKILLED AND HAVE POOR EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUNDS AND/OR ILLNESS BY PROVIDING THEM WITH A RANGE  OF  ASSISTANCE  AND SUPPORT FOR THEIR BENEFIT INCLUDING THE PROVISION OF GARDENING SPACES, SKILLS TRAINING, TOOLS AND SUPPLIES, TRAINING  IN  AGRICULTURE,  HORTICULTURE  AND  GARDENING  WITH THE AIM TO HELP THEM COLLECTIVELY ORGANIZE COMMON COMMUNITY RESOURCES (INCLUDING A FOOD CO-OPERATIVE), PROVIDING  TRAINING  IN  CULTURAL/ART  ENDEAVORS  AND  SKILLS, SUPPORTING PARENTS TO UNDERSTAND THE NEEDS OF THEIR CHILDREN'S DEVELOPMENT AND BY PROVIDING SAFE CULTURAL SPACES FOR THEIR CHILDREN'S EDUCATION TO BE ENHANCED THROUGH THE PERFORMING AND FINE ARTS, READING AND LISTENING SKILLS ALL SO THAT THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE MAY BE IMPROVED.

**Summary of the main activities undertaken for the public benefit in relation to these objects (include within this section the statutory declaration that trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit)** 

Over the last year the charity has continued its work in developing an edible teaching garden at St Mary’s School, Bridport; had continued to work in supporting the school’s cook and kitchen in defining a proper diet for the children; has broadened its work with individual children and with the teachers in helping them to learn about seed and planting their own food; had organised 4 seasonal events around the garden inviting parents to join in; has provided storytelling, dance and drawing lessons upon occasion for the children all based around food; has provided after-school cookery classes for parents and children; has begun to link the school with the local Children’s Centre to help younger children learn about food; has begun to provide the local church run food bank with our excess fruit and vegetables from the garden, especially during the summer months; and has continued to support the HOME sponsored allotment attached to the Skilling Estate. Home has also worked with the new head teacher to develop a school wide food policy. All the above are directly in line with our stated objects aims,

**Events for HOME, in partnership with Opera Circus UK, charity and performing arts organization acting as fund raiser and project management due to experience and skills in this field. Also based in Bridport and volunteer partner with the Edible Garden Project.** 

**Exile: A Mind in Winter – an arts project led by three artists, Cedoux Kadima, Ricky Romain and Robert Golden looking at human rights through film, painting, photography and texts. Held at Bridport Arts Centre and included multiple workshops with children and others around various social issues. Included three musical events including a major world music concert on Dec 10 International Human Rights Day at BAC which sold out.  This project was delayed once due to Covid and the plans were to deliver the project in December 2020. (this was achieved.) This Good Earth: - The development of a full-length documentary based in and around Bridport and West Dorset looking at issues of soil, farming, food and human rights and health.  This is being created over 3 years, with a variety of local, regional and national funding and will be released in 2021. TCFT November 2019:- HOME took part in a week long residency for young people from Dorset, London, Italy and Bosnia based around the arts including participating in an Arts and Humanities Research Council project called Izazov teaching young people about film making. This was in partnership with the lead organisation Opera Circus. HOME continued to participate in the development of the Edible Garden Project with St. Mary’s School contributing as fund raiser and helping to develop relationships with the school around a food and sugar policy.**
