Structure, Governance and management
Structure and Organisation
The charitsble organisation was set up on 9 May 1982 with ex￿pted tharitable status
under a model trust de￿1 dated 16 February 1953 and t￿￿me a Ch2rit8ble Incorporatod
Organisation on 14 April 2018.
Trustee Appointments
The Pastor of the church 15 ex-officwJ the chairperson of the Board of Tnjstees and their
FX)Srtion is reviewed Iwo years after apFM)intment and then every four years after that.
The remaining Trustees are apwinta annually by the members of Penycae
Neighbourhood Church of The Nazarene at the annual general meeting held in Febnjary
each year.
Governance and Wlder Network
The Board of Trustees meets regulaty, nonnalty on a monthly basis to consider the work
and management of the church and assess and plan the financial and other aspects oflhe
work and direction of the charity.
The church is a member of the Church of The Nazarene British Isles South District la
CharitatAe Company Limited by Guarantee) who in tum is a member of The Intemational
Church of The Nazarene Inc vthich has headquarters in Lenexa, Kansas, USA.
The charity, and the wKler nets%t*rk it is a mernber of, are all govemed by the Manual ofthe
Intemational Church of The Nazarene Inc which is subject to amendment on a quadrennial
basis at the General Assemb￿ of The Intemational Church of The Nazarene Inc. The last
General Assembty took place in June 2023. The next General Assemb￿ will tske place in
June 2027.
Risk Management
The risk management strategy of the thurth in a ￿ntinual pr(w of foMiulat￿n in
response to the GhangiThJ orcumstsnGes that C¢￿Id impaGt upon the wot1( of the church.
The B¢Jard of Trustees, in considerin9 this important task, take direction fr¢Jn on-going
discussions wtth members both intemalty and through meelings with the ChU[￿h of The
Nazarene British Isles South District and other advisers, adopting appropriate policies as
required or as they become necessary to the ongoing work of the church.

Public Benefit
The Trustees have had due regard to the Charity Commission guitjance on publ￿ benefft
reporting in deciding what activrties the chanty should undertake. This retort illustrates the
actfvitie8 undertaken to 8UPPOrt the public benefft requiremenL
Review of the Year
The aims for the year included-
Conlinuation of weekty Chnstian worship meetings and promolion of the Christian
fatth in accordance with the principles of the Church of The Nazarene.
Work with children arK1 young peop￿ to promote the Christian faith and providèlocal
social benefTL
The Chur¢h held a successful weekend away ai Quints Gh[iSt￿n Centre whiGh
helped to foster meaningful relationships behveen (%ngregats"on members of all
ages and helped deepen their spirilual experience.
Support of the new Penycae Ftying Start charity who continued to be located in
the church buikling. This supports t*ildren from refeTred families in the local
neighborhocKI. The registered provKler Janet Dean is a rrEmber of the church and
the chur¢h board supp)rt her as she manages the projecl. There was a steep
decline in Ihe numbers of children accessing the Centre, which lead lo a decrease
in funding.
Weekty m*lings continued for the more mature individuals in the Penycae area.
Continuing to develop links wrth the thal comrnunity. to enhanGe the involvement
of the church wrth relevant bGal agenGies on behalf ofthe k)cal communty.
Continue to partner wtth and make the church building 8V8ilable to relevant local
agencies seeking to benefrt the local communty, such agencies include but are not
restricted to Wrexham County Borough Counol, T.C.G. and lo(xl Gommunity
forums.
Signifi¢ant aGtivitres during the perKyJ include:
Weekly worship services conducted by Pastor Traw Day wrth assistance and input
from the pastoral and w¢)rship teams.
Youth meetings (during tem time) for interactM)n in a safe environment to enable
them to grow and develop spirilualty, socialty and individually. These meeting$
would usualty be weekty.

Volunteers
The work planned, activtties undertaken and achievements attainèj woukd not have been
possible without the active involvement and hard work of all of the members and friends of
the chanty wrthout whom the Substantial work ofthe chartty could not be realised. The B(wd
of Trustees is grateful for the wotk and support of all the members and friends of Penycae
Neighbouthood Church of The Nazare￿.
Financial Review
Reserves
The charity does not have a Fdicy on reserves as the expenditure and Work of the chanty
is reliant upon the ongoing supporL lrthes and offerings of the members and friends
received at the Week￿ meetings. The Board of Tnjstees reviews on a monthly basis the
anticipated income and expenditure for the next to three months in order to ensure the
ongoing work of the charity.
Flnancial Review of the Year
The charity has continued throughout the perKKI to meet and taibr the expenditure rt incur5
to the income received through rent for use of the building and through the offetings and
donations received. The trustees encourage those that can, to pay direct to the charity by
slanding order while cash ks counted weekly by Iwo trustees.
The receipts and paymerrt account shows thatthere was a nel increase in Ga5h furHls during
the year of £1,536. this t(NJether with the reduction in the liabilities, the loan to Flying Start
£5,500 and mortgage on the manse of£3,538. gave an over211 increase in funds of£10,574,
as detailed by the assets and liabilities in the financial statements. £100,757 of the
unreslnGled funds are set aside in desvJnat￿l funds leaving £11,189 of general funds
avaiLable as cash in hand and at the bank.
Al the end of the summer teTm Penycae Ftying Slart requested the Church help fund the
setting until the funding was re￿IVed for the September tem. A loan was made to the
charity of £5.500.

Plans for FU￿re Perlods
The trustees are in consuttation regarding communty benefft grants to update the kitchen
and replace the gas central heating boiler.
The trustees are hoping to expand the of trustees ty up to iwo peop￿.
We conlinue to plan forthe future through prayer, thnning and sttategy meetings, however
in the end we accept Ihat we rety on our Father Gc#J lo enable, ent￿rage and guide us
into the flrture that He has planned.

As the charity trustees, you are resportsible for the preparation of the actounts in accordance with
the Charilies Act 20111lhe Arf).
I réport in respect of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 ofthe 2011
Act and in carying out my examination, I have followed all the applicabte directions gtven by the
Charity Commission under section 145151(b) of the Act.
Independent examinerfs statemgnt
I have completed my examination. I confinn that no material maiters have come to my attention in
connection with the examinalion which gives me cause to beI￿ve that in, any matenal respect:
the accounting records were not kept in accordance wrth section 130 of the Act.. or
the a¢¢ounts did nol accord wrth the accounting records., or
the accounts did not compty wtlh the ap￿icab￿ requirements concerning the fotm and content
of accounts set out in the Charities {Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 olher than any
requirement that the accounts give a Yrue and faif view which is not a matter considered as

General Fund
This is unrestncted fiJnds for use to achieve the aims and objedives of the charlty.
Solar Panel Fund
This ts an unrestricted fund designated lo enter the montes receNed and expended for the installati)n
of solar panels on the sothh facing roof of the church.
ICE Fund
This fund is money thal has been raised or set aswje to cover unexpected expenses that may arise.
Mounlain Bike Guiding Fund
This is an unrestricted fund designated to enter the monies receNed and expended on the Mountsin
Bike GuKling Prtsjram.
Youth & Childr¢n Fund
This is an unrestrthd fund designated to enter the monies received aThJ expended on the youth
programs.
Capital Fund
This is an unreslricted fund desMJnated to hold the freehold cost of the manse and entsr the monies
received and expended on the mortgage on this freehold.
Revaluation Reserve
The 500h ofthe manse property purchased by the church al 192 Ffordd Llanerch was revalued in line
wrth the market value of the lurther 50Yo of the property re¢eived from the Church of The Nazarene
British Isles South District and the loss all¢xated to this reserve.

During the year Tracey Day, Ihe Pastor, YRS paid remuneration of £12,600 (2023 £1.9971, and
pension conlributions of £630 (2023 £100). The Pastor and Trustees re￿Ived £708 in reimbursed
expens68 during the year {2023 £4.4761.

the year.
