ST SIGFRID’S TRUST 2022-23

St Sigfrid’s Trust Trustees’ Report for 2022-23

The Trust offered financial support for the visit of Oxford Curates to Växjö Diocese for the ‘Getting to Know the Swedish Church’ course, which was able to run this year in May after stoppages for Covid in the previous two years. Following the decision of Oxford Diocese on environmental grounds that travel for this course should not be by air, expenses rose considerably. The Trust informed the Diocese that it would pay costs above £4000 but in fact it was not necessary to provide any funding; the Trust’s offer, however, provided reassurance to the diocese, without which the course might not have happened.

The physical (non-digital) guidebook to the St Sigfrid’s Way progressed; the Trust underwrote the costs of creating a day-by-day written description of the route by someone walking it and of having this put into book form, but the need to clarify some sections of the route and the difficulty of doing that has inhibited the production of the book. Again, whilst the Trust was (and is) willing to fund the production of the book, so far expenses have been met from another source.
