Chair & Treasurers Report – Riverbridge PTA
September 2024 – August 2025
I would like to start by thanking all the teachers & parents who have gotten involved with the PTA fundraising this year, without you we wouldn’t have a PTA and none of the brilliant events we held would have been possible.
One of my main aims over the last 2 years was to grow the number of people who form the core team and it’s been wonderful to see new faces at our meetings and helping out at events. Every PTA struggles to get enough volunteers, and it is something I will continue to work on in the coming year. Some of our core volunteers have left this year as their children have gone to secondary school, but even at this meeting we have new volunteers coming in so it’s great to see that natural evolution of the PTA.
We raised a total of £15,962 from the events we held last year is a fantastic result that we should be really proud of. There is a breakdown below of all the events we held and how much was raised from each event. Our Target for the year was £15,000 and in the current economic climate it is fantastic that we reached this.
The above fundraising has enabled us to donate a whopping £15,329 to the school and below is a summary of the projects we funded, from classroom resources, enrichment activities for each school year, iPads and visualisers for each class to name but a few.

We have tried to keep our annual running cost at a minimum, totalling £1,362 which included investing £879 in 4 new heavy-duty gazebos to replace the ones that broke at the summer fair this year, £120 on blue PTA vests which can be worn at events, and £89 on chafing dishes which can be used to keep food warm at our events.
Once of the biggest changes going into the new school year will be not working with Julie Williams anymore, who has been such a big part of the PTA, and has supported and worked with us for as long as I have been involved in the PTA. However, we are looking forward to building just as strong a relationship with Clare Drake who will be taking on the role as key contact at the school, alongside Mr Grimwood.
