## FRIENDS OF THE BARGELLO “FOB” Charity Number 1166475 Trustees’ Annual Report for the period ending 5[th] April 2025
The Charity has ~~h~~ ad to effectively cease fundraising activity in the tax year ending 5[th] April 2025 as the Museo Nazionale del Bargello was without a director since January 2024. The Museum has recently partnered with the Accademia, and as a result the directorship post was left vacant while extensive bureaucratic adjustments are still in course in relation to this new alliance. The post of director has recently been named and the Charity looks forward to reigniting our mission for the Bargello under Ms Contessa’s new leadership.
Notwithstanding this hiatus in normal activity, the FOB has continued to attract funding. Unrestricted funds of £41,212 and restricted funds of £500 were donated to the FOB. £40,000 of these donations are from the Friends of the Bargello USA, funds transferred to this charity to pay for the bilingual edition of the Bargello’s Maiolica catalogue. The charity has very low committed costs which mainly relate to administrative support and ongoing website costs and other professional fees. The Charity supported the Museum with payments for translation and catalogue publication.
The Charity has continued our work of raising awareness of the museum’s collection of exceptional, world class works of art, ensuring that current and future donors know that it is a museum of significant importance that needs support. We have been able to inform people of the work we have already achieved with the photographic archive, the new lighting in the Salone di Donatello, the climate controlled new case for the Pénicaud enamels, and the publication of the magnificent Maiolica catalogue.
