To advance Islam**<br>**2. To relieve poverty, in particular**<br>**but not exclusively by the**<br>**provision of a food bank**<br>**3. To provide or assist in the**<br>**provision of facilities in the**<br>**interests of social welfare for**<br>**recreation or other leisure time**<br>**occupation of individuals who**<br>**need such as facilities by reason**<br>**of their youth, age, infirmity or**<br>**disability, financial hardship or**<br>**social circumstances with the**<br>**object of improving their**<br>**conditions of life.**|

Activities includes, art and**<br>**design, painting, reading, homework**<br>**club (focussing on literacy and**<br>**numeracy at Year 8 level) and teaching**<br>**the basics of Islam, fulfilling object 2.**<br>**The Centre also runs a now established**<br>**a ladies Sewing and Coffee club every**<br>**Wednesday morning and a wellbeing**<br>**morning session on Thursday mornings,**<br>**again for ladies. This year we also**<br>**started a monthly ladies cookery class,**<br>**the first Tuesday of every month. We**<br>**also now have an established Elderly**<br>**Gardening club that has landscaped the**<br>**Centre yard with beautiful flowers and**<br>**fruit trees, as well as tea bushes.   This**<br>**year, we were happy to welcome the**<br>**Hope Allotment group to have several**|





|||**cookery sessions in the upper section of**<br>**the Centre.  We continue to have the**<br>**monthly litter pick, which is well**<br>**established and has inspired other**<br>**groups in Firth Park to also start one up,**<br>**and even to other wards in the city (e.g**<br>**Page Hall residents have started one up,**<br>**similar to  ours).  Also new this year,**<br>**was the biweekly wellbeing evening**<br>**sessions (Monday), which allowed**<br>**members to discuss life issues, related**<br>**to when a loved one dies, and how to get**<br>**support before and after death; meeting**<br>**object 2 and 3.  With all activities, we**<br>**offer daily Muslim prayers, in keeping**<br>**with objectives of the Centre. The Centre**<br>**also arranged, in coordination with the**<br>**council, two Eid prayers at Firth Park,**<br>**allowing the local community to**<br>**celebrate the end of Ramadan at Firth**<br>**Park and also the Hajj session.  This**<br>**covers objects 1 and 3.  We have also**<br>**arranged monthly litter pick events in**<br>**the areas surrounding our centre.  Due**<br>**to demand from the community we**<br>**continue to provide emergency food aid.**<br>**The Centre also held a community Iftar**<br>**session for the neighbours, which was**<br>**well received. This covers object 2.   As**<br>**a registered member of the Independent**<br>**Food Network, we continue to support**<br>**those in need with emergence food**<br>**packages, as per object 2.  Due to the**<br>**demand of our members, we have**<br>**applied for and obtained planning**<br>**permission to extend the centre.  Work**<br>**has already started and we will report**<br>**progression next year.**|
