## Activities

**Objects:** TO PROMOTE THE BENEFIT OF THE INHABITANTS OF STANHOPE AND THE NEIGHBOURHOOD WITHOUT DISTINCTION OF SEX OR OF POLITICAL, RELIGIOUS OR OTHER OPINIONS BY ASSOCIATING THE LOCAL AUTHORITIES, VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS AND THE INHABITANTS IN A COMMON EFFORT TO ADVANCE EDUCATION AND TO PROVIDE FACILITIES FOR THE INTERESTS OF SOCIAL WELFARE FOR RECREATION AND LEISURE-TIME OCCUPATION WITH THE OBJECT OF IMPROVING THE CONDITIONS OF LIFE FOR THE SAID INHABITANTS.

**Activities:** We have self-help groups in Pottery, Tiffany-style Glass, Sewing and Patchwork, Textiles including spinning and weaving, Ukulele, Bridge, Whist, Table Tennis, Exercise classes, Boccia, English, Maths and German Tutor, as well as Duke of Edinburgh's Award Scheme for Silver and Gold.
